In 923, Changning County was changed to Xiangning county because of avoiding the taboo of Zhuang ZongZu. In 1961, Xiang and Ji were separated. In 1971, Jinnan area was divided into Linfen and Yuncheng areas. Xiangning county was subordinate to Linfen area. There are 209 and 309 National roads in Xiangning county and three provincial roads in taixiang, Xiangxiang and yingwan. In March 2019, Xiangning county was listed in the first batch of counties in revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area. There are xunxi tomb, Lianpo tomb, thousand Buddha cave in Sui and Tang Dynasties, Baishan temple in Song Dynasty and other famous scenic spots in Xiangning county.
