Huocheng County Huocheng County, belonging to Xinjiang Yili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, is located in the northwest of Yili River Valley, adjacent to Tianshan Mountain in the north, Wenquan county and Bole City of Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture; adjacent to Yili River in the South and Chabuchar County across the water; adjacent to Yining County, Yining City and kekedala city in the East; adjacent to Horgos city in the west, with a total area of 3184 square kilometers.

Before the Western Han Dynasty, there were Saizhong people, Yueshi people, and later Wusun people.

In Wei and Jin Dynasties, it was like joy.

After the unification of the western regions in the Tang Dynasty, it was first under the jurisdiction of the capital of Kunling, and then under the jurisdiction of the capital of Beiting.

Yongle in Ming Dynasty was a nomadic land of Wasi. After 1643, it belonged to the Junggar region of Western Mongolia.

In 1755, after the Qing government pacified the Ministry of Junggar, a minister was set up in the county of uharlik (now Shuiding town). In the 27th year of Qianlong (1762), suiding city was built in uharlik. President Yili and other generals (Yili generals for short) ruled the north and south of Tianshan Mountains and the East and south of Balkhash Lake. Huiyuan city was built on the North Bank of Yili in 1763, and Yili general moved to Huiyuan. Later, the cities of talech, Guangren, zhande, Gongchen, Xichun, Ningyuan and Huining were successively built. Huiyuan, suiding and the seven cities are known as the nine cities of Ili in history. In 1871, Yili was occupied by Tsarist Russia. In 1876, the Qing Government recovered Yili. In 1888, the Qing government set up Yili Prefecture. The Prefecture was located in suiding city and suiding county. In the same year, Horgos sub Defense Department was set up, which was subordinate to Yili Prefecture.

In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), revolutionaries revolted in Huiyuan and established the new governor of Iraq, the military government of the Republic of China. In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), Yili Prefecture was abolished, and suiding County belonged to yita road. In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Horgos branch Defense Department was removed, and Horgos county (called Huocheng County after the founding of new China) was set up from suiding county. The county government was stationed in Gongchen city. In the sixth year of the Republic of China (1917), yita divided the way, suiding and Horgos belonged to Yili road. In 1944, suiding and Horgos belonged to the government of Yining Special Administrative Region.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, suiding and Horgos counties belonged to Ili region, and Horgos county was renamed Huocheng county.

In January 1966, the State Council abolished Shuiding county and assigned its administrative region to Huocheng county.

In 1990, Huocheng county had jurisdiction over 2 towns, 7 townships and 6 state-owned farms. In the county, there are six farms, one industrial enterprise and Horgos River Irrigation Management Office of the fourth agricultural division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps (the fourth agricultural division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps), Yili sugar factory, ertai forest farm of Tianshan western forestry bureau of Forestry Department of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Horgos port and relevant departments at the port.

In June 2014, the State Council approved the establishment of Horgos city at the county level, and the former yichegashan Xibo Township, mohur ranch, 61 regiments and 62 regiments of the fourth agricultural division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps, and Horgos port in Huocheng county were assigned to Horgos city.
