Cangxi County Cangxi County, under the jurisdiction of Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, is located in the northern edge of Sichuan Basin, the low and Middle Mountain hilly area at the southern foot of Daba Mountain, and the southern end of Guangyuan City, between 31 ° 37 '- 32 ° 10' n and 105 ° 43 '- 106 ° 28' e, covering an area of 2346.46 square kilometers. Cangxi County belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate zone, with abundant heat, abundant rain, long frost free period, mild climate, four distinct seasons, long winter and short summer, and long spring than autumn. Cangxi County was called "Qinlong Suoyue" and "Pingfan in northern Sichuan" in ancient times, which got its name because it was located in Cangxi valley. In the sixth year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (285), Cangxi County was set up in Langzhong County, Brazil. The county government is located in Nongtan Village (also known as Xianba) of Lingjiang town. On September 9, 1985, the State Council approved Cangxi County to be put under the jurisdiction of Guangyuan City from Nanchong. Since January 1986, Cangxi County has become a county of Guangyuan City. There are G212 National Road, G75 Lanhai Expressway and Lanzhou Chongqing railway passing through the territory. Cangxi County is a national modern agricultural demonstration county, the hometown of China's Sydney, and the hometown of China's red heart kiwifruit. There are Bailu Lake National Water Conservancy Scenic Spot, Sanxikou (Yudai gorge, Wudang Mountain) National Forest Park, tingzi Lake municipal scenic spot, Jiulongshan Provincial Nature Reserve and other scenic spots in Cangxi County.
In 2018, Cangxi County achieved a GDP of 15.29 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 3.237 billion yuan, an increase of 3.9%; the added value of the secondary industry was 6.654 billion yuan, an increase of 9.1%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 5.399 billion yuan, an increase of 10.3%. The per capita GDP was 25012 yuan, an increase of 2072 yuan, or 7.9% at comparable prices.
In February 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province agreed to withdraw Cangxi County from poverty-stricken counties.
History of construction
Cangxi got its name from the reign of emperor Gaozu of the Western Han Dynasty. It was named Cangxi valley because of the high mountains on both sides of a section of Jialing River, the deep canyon, and the green water flowing through it. Since the establishment of the county in the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty, it has a history of more than 1700 years.
According to the unearthed cultural relics at the foot of Panlong mountain and Huachanggou, the ancestors lived on this land about 10000 to 4000 years ago.
The Neolithic period is a part of the "Daxi Culture" in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River (4400-3300 BC). The ancestors who migrated from the Sihe River Basin of Han River in Yunyang (now Shiyan, Hubei Province) established patriarchal clan social tribes in the East River Basin of Jialing River, which were called "Pingzhou tribe" and "Feng tribe".
In Xia Dynasty, it belonged to Liangzhou territory of Xia tribe alliance.
In Shang Dynasty, it belonged to Yongzhou territory of Qiang tribe.
The Western Zhou Dynasty belongs to the state of Pingzhou. In the first year of King Wu of Zhou Dynasty (1046 BC), the ancestors established the di Marquis state "Pingzhou".
In the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, it belonged to the Pingzhou County of the state of Ju. In the sixth year of King Zhou Shenliang (316 BC), the state of Qin destroyed the state of Ju, and Pingzhou withdrew the county to Jiangxiang, belonging to Langzhong County, Bajun County of the state of Qin.
In the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Pingzhou county. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Langzhong County, Brazil County of Yizhou.
In the two Jin Dynasties, in the sixth year of Emperor Wu's Taikang (285), Cangxi County was set up in Langzhong County, Brazil, where the county government is located in Nongtan Village (also known as Xianba) of today's Chengguan town. At the same time, qisuo county (later renamed song'an county and Qiping county) was set up in Cangxi County, where the county government is located in today's Qiping town.
In the southern and Northern Dynasties, in the Liu and Song Dynasties, overseas Chinese set up Hanchang County in Qingshan Temple (now Qingshan village of Chanlin township). In 431, Cangxi County was merged into Hanchang, and the county government was transferred from Nongtan village of Chengguan town to Qingshan temple.
In the Sui Dynasty, in the fourth year of Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty (584), the county government of Hanchang moved from qingshanguan to Nongtan village, Chengguan town. In the 18th year of kaihuang (598), the name of Hanchang county was abolished and the name of Cangxi County was restored, which was still attached to Longzhou; in the 3rd year of Shizu Daye (607), Longzhou was transformed into Brazil County, which belonged to Cangxi County.
In the Tang Dynasty, in 618, Cangxi County was under the jurisdiction of Longzhou, Jiannan road; in 713, Xuanzong changed Longzhou to Langzhou, Shannan West Road.
During the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, Cangxi County was subordinate to Langzhou in the pre Shu period (907-925), and Baoning army in Langzhou in the post Shu period (934-965).
In the Song Dynasty, in the fourth year of Qiande (966), Emperor Taizu of the Song Dynasty, Baoning army was changed to an'de army, which belonged to Cangxi County; in the fourth year of Xianping of Zhenzong (1001), Lizhou road was added to Xichuan Road, and Cangxi County was subordinate to Lizhou Road and Langzhong County of Langzhou. In the Yuan Dynasty, in 1276, it belonged to Baoning mansion, Guangyuan Road, xingzhongshu Province, Sichuan Province. In 1283, Fengguo County entered Cangxi County.
In the Ming Dynasty, the fourth year of Hongwu (1371) of Taizu abolished Guangyuan Road, and Cangxi County belonged to Baoning Prefecture, the Minister of Chengxuan government of Sichuan Province. In May 1377, Cangxi County entered Langzhong County, and in November 1380, Cangxi County was restored to Baoning Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty, Cangxi County began to belong to the Qing Dynasty in the eighth year of Shunzhi (1651) and was subordinate to Baoning Prefecture in Sichuan Province; in the seventh year of Renzong Jiaqing (1802), it was subordinate to Baoning Prefecture in the north of Sichuan Province.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was under the jurisdiction of Baoning Prefecture, Sichuan Province; in the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it was under the jurisdiction of Jialing Taoist department, Sichuan Province; in October of the seventh year of the Republic of China (1918), Xiong Kewu, commander-in-chief of the Sichuan Yasukuni army and commander of the seventh division of the Sichuan Yasukuni army, was stationed in Daxian. At that time, it had jurisdiction over Daxian, Xuanhan, Kaijiang, Wanyuan, Chengkou, Kaixian, Yunyang, Fengjie, Wuxi, Quxian, Yingshan, Yilong, Peng'an, Tongjiang, Nanjiang, Bazhong, Langzhong, Cangxi, Nanbu, Yanting, Zhaohua, Guangyuan, Jiange and Zitong counties.
In 1935, it was transferred to the 14th administrative supervision district of Sichuan Province.
In July 1933, the Soviet government of Cangxi County was established in yunshanba (today's Yunshan town), and then moved to Wenchang palace in Wenchang town; in September 1934, the Soviet government of Cangxi County moved from Wenchang palace to laoguanchang (today's Laoguan town in Langzhong City); in March 1935, the Soviet government of Cangxi County moved from laoguanchang to nongtanba in Lingjiang town.
On December 31, 1949, Cangxi County was liberated.
On January 18, 1950, the people's Government of Cangxi County was formally established, belonging to the Jiange special district of northern Sichuan administrative district (in 1953, the Jiange special district was changed into Guangyuan special district, and was withdrawn in March of the same year).
In March 1953, Cangxi County was assigned to Nanchong district (in 1970, Nanchong district was changed into Nanchong District).
On September 9, 1985, the State Council approved Cangxi County to be put under the jurisdiction of Guangyuan City from Nanchong. Since January 1986, Cangxi County has officially become a county of Guangyuan City.

On January 18, 1950, the people's Government of Cangxi County was established. The county was divided into 10 districts on February 1 and 7 districts in April. In 1952, the county had jurisdiction over 10 districts, 89 townships, 547 villages and 4231 groups.
In July 1955, the people's Government of Cangxi County changed the number of districts to address them by place names: District One (suburb), district two (Dongqing), district three (Wulong), district four (Sanchuan), District five (Qiping), district six (Dongxi), District seven (Longshan), District eight (Yuanba), district nine (Yuedong) and District ten (Wenchang); in December of the same year, Yuedong district was abolished and divided into Qiping, Dongxi and Wenchang There are three districts.
In October 1958, 60 townships under the jurisdiction of the county were transformed into communes. By 1963, the county had 9 districts, 1 town, 68 communes, 743 production teams and 4636 production teams.
In 1984, all 68 communes in the county were restored to townships.
In June 1986, Chengjiao township was merged into Lingjiang town; in August of the same year, Yuanba, Qiping and Dongxi townships were changed into towns.
In 1990, the county had jurisdiction over 9 districts (suburban district, Dongqing District, Wulong District, Sanchuan District, Qiping District, Dongxi District, Longshan District, Yuanba district and Wenchang District), 1 district level town (Lingjiang town), 3 township level towns (Yuanba, Qiping and Dongxi), 64 townships, 739 administrative villages, 12 communities, 4889 villagers' groups and 70 residents' groups.
In October 1992, according to the implementation plan of Cangxi County's withdrawing districts and merging townships, 68 townships in 9 districts and 1 town were merged into 18 townships and 12 townships.
In 1993, Xiaoxin township was assigned to Motan Town, Yuanba District, Guangyuan City.
In September 1994, Cangxi township system was adjusted, and the original 30 townships were transferred to 32 townships and 24 towns, a total of 56 townships.
