geographical environment
Location context
Pinghe county is located in the southwest of Zhangzhou City in the golden triangle of Southern Fujian Province, adjacent to Xiamen and Shantou special economic zones. The geographical coordinates are 24 ° 02 ′ - 24 ° 35 ′ N and 116 ° 54 ′ - 117 ° 31 ′ E. It governs 10 towns, 5 townships and 1 farm.

Five of the six major rivers in Zhangzhou originate from Pinghe, which has won the reputation of "the source of five rivers" (Hanjiang, Zhangpu Nanxi, Lujiang, Yunxiao Zhangjiang, Zhaoan Dongxi).
geology
Pinghe county is located in the composite part of the East-West composite structural belt of Nanling mountains and the second composite uplift belt of Xinhua Xia system. After many times of crustal movement, the structural faults are complex. The more developed structural systems are meridional structure, Neocathaysian structure and torsion structure.
Meridional structure
They formed earlier and were mostly migrated and reformed by new structures in the later stage. Sporadic outcrops occur in the county, only in the northwest Luxi north-south compression and torsion fault zone.
Neocathaysian structure
They are: donghuai guizhuyang ne compression torsion fault zone, accompanied by Jiaohe Guanfeng NW tension torsion fault zone; Jiufeng tutian NNE fracture zone; Wenfeng Daxi NNE fracture zone (2 and 3 fracture zones are accompanied by tension torsion NW fracture); Xiaoxi Banzai NNE compound anticline.
Twist structure
It is mainly found in anhou broom like structure. From beiqianling to southwest, it passes Daxi and anhou, and then turns southeast to yunxiaomapu and jingjingping. It spreads anticlockwise, about 60 km long and 3-25 km wide, covering an area of 600 square kilometers.
In the whole county, the NNE and NE compressive and torsional structural planes of the Xinhua Xia system and the associated transverse northwest fault still play a leading role. The neotectonic movement strongly displays the alluvial and proluvial layers, which control the distribution and trend of Pinghe mountain range, the cutting of river valley, the development of river terraces and water system network, etc., which are basically consistent with the outline of the exposed structural system.
The geological structure in the territory is mainly fracture with slight fold. Only in the Jurassic Lishan formation between Xiaoxi and xiaofanshan, there are wide and gentle NE trending folds, which are not obvious in other areas. In a word, the geological structure in the county is a grid structure with NE trending faults as the main trunk and multiple groups of faults interwoven. There are mainly: Zhongteng Jiufeng NE fault; Xiaoxi Daxi NE fault; Luxi nanshang NW fault; Qiling anhou NW fault; tangkeng (Nanjing County) - Ivory N-S fault; fulishi longsandong N-S fault.
climate
The annual average temperature in Pinghe county is 17.5-21.3 degrees centigrade, 21-21.3 degrees centigrade in Xiaoxi, shange, Banzi, anhou and nanshang in the southeast, 20-21 degrees centigrade in Jiufeng and Guoqiang in the west, and 17.5-19 degrees centigrade in other western mountainous areas. Long rainy season, abundant rainfall, annual average 1600-2000 mm, annual average evaporation 1400 mm, medium sunshine and solar radiation time, annual average frost period of 41.3 days, small temperature difference in spring and autumn and winter, warm climate, long summer, but extremely hot and cold rare, suitable for all kinds of agricultural growth and industrial investment.
natural resources
There are many kinds of mineral resources in Pinghe County, including more than 10 kinds of gold, silver and copper. Among them, quartz, kaolin and granite are widely distributed, with large storage capacity and high grade, which are rare in the province. The theoretical water energy reserve is nearly 100000 kilowatts, with many rivers, wide drainage area, large bed gradient, fast runoff and high development value. There are 10 underground hot springs, with a daily water yield of 3000 cubic meters, which provides a reference for the development of freshwater aquaculture It provides favorable conditions.
