Nan'an Nan'an (formerly funan'an County in Quanzhou) is known as Wurong. It is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province and is managed by Quanzhou City. Located in the southeast coast of Fujian Province, the middle reaches of Jinjiang River. The city has an area of 2036 square kilometers and 1635006 registered residence population (2017). Jin Taikang three years (282), renamed Jin'an County, belongs to Jin'an county. In the Southern Dynasties, Liang was changed into Liang'an county.
Tianjian (502-519) is located in the south of Jin'an County, which is called Nan'an county. It leads three counties: Jin'an (now Quanzhou and Xiamen), lanshui (now Putian) and Longxi (now the north of Zhangzhou). The county government is located in Jin'an (now Fengzhou town of Nan'an City), so as to maintain the stability of the south of Fujian.
In the ninth year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (589), the county was changed to county (Jinping County, Jin'an county and Liang'an county were renamed in the Five Dynasties), and its jurisdiction included Putian, Jinjiang, Hui'an, Tong'an, Anxi and Yongchun.

In the early Qing Dynasty, it began to belong to Xingquan Yongdao (under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou, Xinghua and yongchunzhou).
During the period of the Republic of China, it briefly belonged to Xiamen Road (Tongan, Jinjiang, Nan'an, Jinmen, Anxi, Putian, Xianyou, Yongchun, Dehua, Hui'an, ten counties, Tongan).
In April 1935, Xiamen city was set up on seven islands, including Xiamen and Gulangyu. Siming county was abolished and Heshan special zone was set up. Tongan county and Siming County belong to the fourth administrative supervision district (Tongan, Jinjiang, Nan'an, Jinmen, Anxi, Putian, Xianyou, Yongchun, Dehua and Hui'an counties are under the jurisdiction of Tongan). The fourth administrative supervision district was moved from Yongchun to Quanzhou.
In July 1937, the county government moved from Fengzhou town to Ximei town.
On August 14, 1949, after liberation, Nan'an county was set up, belonging to Quanzhou special district (Jinjiang, Hui'an, Nan'an, Anxi, Yongchun, Putian, Xianyou, Jinmen, Tong'an nine counties), and later renamed Jinjiang special district, Jinjiang special district (area), Quanzhou City.
On September 3, 1949, the whole territory of Nan'an county was liberated. In order to consolidate the people's political power, the people's Government of Nan'an county was established on September 12, which divided the county into 11 districts and governed 30 towns. District offices are set up in each district.
In April 1950, the working committee of Jinmen County of the Communist Party of China was abolished, and its Dadeng district was assigned to Nan'an County, which increased to 12 administrative districts.
In October 1951, the county was divided into 12 districts and 191 townships.
In August 1952, according to the instruction of the administrative yuan of the Central People's government that "in the areas where the land reform has been completed, the administrative divisions of districts and townships should be adjusted as appropriate, and the administrative scope of districts and townships should be reduced, so as to facilitate the people to manage the political power, close the relationship between the government and the people, give full play to the role of the grass-roots organizations of the people's political power, and improve the work efficiency", and the instruction of the provincial people's government that "the administrative divisions of districts and townships should be reduced The county is divided into 19 districts, 207 townships and towns.
In May 1955, the provincial government announced the establishment of the people's Government of Jinmen County, and Dadeng district was under the jurisdiction of Jinmen county. Because Jinmen has not been liberated, Dadeng district is still managed by Nan'an county.
In October 1955, in order to implement the spirit of "streamlining the organization, tightening the establishment and practicing strict economy" and strengthen the leadership of agricultural cooperation, the county was re divided into 16 districts, 213 townships and 6 towns.
In June 1956, with the rapid development of agricultural cooperative movement, the social economy of the whole county has been greatly developed, and social security has been increasingly consolidated. The original 16 districts and 219 townships and towns were adjusted to 9 districts and 95 townships. Each district was directly named after its location, namely Yingdu District, Meilin District, Shishan District, Meishan District, honglai District, Fengzhou District, Guanqiao District, Shijing district and Dadeng district.
In February 1958, the great leap forward movement of industrial and agricultural production was launched, and the county further simplified its organization, that is, to withdraw districts and merge townships. Except for Dadeng District, the other eight district level organizations were canceled, and the original 95 townships were merged into 36 townships and towns. In October 1958, with the arrival of the climax of people's communization, satellite people's commune, red flag people's commune, five-star people's commune, rocket people's commune, red people's commune, lighthouse people's commune, Hongzhuan people's Commune and Chenggong people's commune were established in Chengguan, Yingdu, Shishan, Meishan, honglai, Fengzhou, Guanqiao and Shijing, respectively. At the end of the year, it was named after the location of each commune. Dadeng commune, Xiaodeng commune and Dadeng commune were set up from Shijing commune. A total of 222 production teams were set up, realizing the unity of government and society.
In 1958, during the period of people's communization, the sugar houses, Panshan, Xipu, shaocuo and Jingtang in Fengzhou Zhaoxian District, and the streets of Xinpu, Huanglong, Bantou, Qishan, Dongbian, huangshitou, Jinpu, dajintian, Huayan and Fuqiao in Qishan district were put under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou City.
In June 1959, the work of reorganizing the county began. Dongtian people's commune was separated from Yingdu people's commune, Jintao people's Commune and dock people's commune were separated from Shishan people's commune, Jiudu people's commune was separated from Meishan people's commune, and Kangmei people's commune was separated from honglai people's commune. By the end of 1959, 14 people's communes, 286 production teams and 3086 production teams had been set up in the county.
In August 1961, the Grass-roots System of district offices was restored, and the county changed 14 communes into 11 district offices. They are Chengguan District, Dongtian District, Yingdu District, Jintao District, Shishan District, Meishan District, Jiudu District, honglai District, Fengzhou District, Guanqiao district and Shijing district. And Dadeng people's commune management committee. The District Office has 65 communes under its jurisdiction.
In May 1965, the county improved the new system of rural people's communes, abolished the district office, and adjusted the county into 18 communes, 357 production teams and 4602 production teams. The 18 communes are Chengguan, Meilin, Luncang, Dongtian, Yingdu, Jintao, Shishan, Toutou, Jiudu, Luodong, Meishan, honglai, Kangmei, Fengzhou, Guanqiao, Shuitou, Shijing and Dadeng.
In September 1984, Chengguan commune was incorporated into Ximei town.
According to the relevant instructions of the central government, the State Council and the provincial government, on October 1, 1984, the government and society were made public and the township government was established. The communes will be changed into townships and towns. The production brigade was changed into village committee or neighborhood committee, and the production brigade was changed into (neighborhood) group. There were 22 townships in the county. In October 1984, honglai, Shishan and Shijing were changed into towns. In February 1985, Shuitou, Guanqiao, Fengzhou, Meishan and cangcangcang were changed into towns. In April, Yingdu was changed into Yingdu. In July, Toutou was changed into Toutou. In September 1988, Meilin, Jintao, Kangmei and Luodong were transformed into towns. By December 1988, there were 15 towns, 7 townships, 400 Village (neighborhood) committees and 5832 Village (neighborhood) groups in the county.
In 1993, the county was removed and Nanan City, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of the province, was set up and managed by Quanzhou City.
