Since ancient times, it has been a region inhabited by Manchu, Mongolian and other nationalities. There are 13 nationalities, including Manchu, Mongolian, Hui and Han. The minority population accounts for 77.2% of the total, and the Manchu population accounts for 68.5%.
Fengning Manchu Autonomous County, established in 1987. The name of Fengning County comes from the Emperor Qianlong's imperial gift, with the word "Fengfu Kangning". Fengning Manchu Autonomous County is one of the six Bashang counties, 32 counties around Beijing and Tianjin, 22 counties expanding power and 13 counties around capital economic circle in Hebei Province. Bordering on the capital Beijing, it is not only one of the counties around Beijing and Tianjin in Hebei Province, but also an important channel connecting Beijing and Inner Mongolia.
Fengning Manchu Autonomous County is the hometown of Chinese folk art and Chinese paper-cut art. China's top 100 summer leisure counties and cities in 2020. In September 2020, it will be included in the list of food industry strong counties (cities, districts) (cultivation type) in Hebei Province. In October 2020, it will be selected into the first batch of new smart city construction pilot list in Hebei Province.
