Linyou County, belonging to Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the northeast of Baoji City. It is a summer resort for officials of Sui and Tang Dynasties. It was named after Qilin Youguan in the first year of Sui Yining. It is located in the hilly and gully area of Weibei dryland, adjacent to Yongshou and Qian counties in the East, Qianyang and Fengxiang in the west, Fufeng and Qishan in the south, Bin County and Lingtai County in Gansu Province in the north. Linyou county system was established in the Qin and Han Dynasties. It is said that in the first year of the Sui Dynasty, Bai Qilin appeared in Renshou palace. He traveled around Xiangyou and changed his name to Linyou, which is still in use today.

According to the research of ancient sites and unearthed cultural relics, the ancestors of the Paleolithic era had already multiplied in the territory of Linyou. In the Neolithic era, clans and tribes had already lived together.
Xia: Xiayu "ruled lacquer and Qi", dredged lacquer water, and Linyou belonged to Yongzhou.
Shang Dynasty: the ancestors of the Zhou Dynasty entered the present Linyou area from Tai along Qishui, and built Du Linyi, so it is called Du di. After two generations, Gong Liu moved his capital to Chen (now Binxian county). In his father's time, he was invaded by Di and withdrew from him. He gathered in the high mountains of Qibei (today's Linyou) to recuperate. He moved south to Zhouyuan and settled his capital in Qiyang.
In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Linyou was under the jurisdiction of the Western Zhou Dynasty.
In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Linyou was under the jurisdiction of Qin.
Qin: after the unification of China, it was established as a county. In the east of Linyou County, it was established as Qi County, and in the west, it was established as duyang county (the county is located in Zhaoxian town of Linyou county).
In the Western Han Dynasty, duyang county and Qixian County were ruled by the Qin Dynasty.
Eastern Han Dynasty: after the first year of Zhongping (184), duyang county was assigned to Han'an county.
Three Kingdoms: duyang County, lacquer county (Wei) under the jurisdiction of Fufeng County.
Western Jin Dynasty: in the early years, duyang county was abolished, and its land belonged to Yong County in the southwest and Qi County in the northeast. They are all under the jurisdiction of youfufeng.
Northern Wei Dynasty: in the second year of Huangxing (468), the northern part of Linyou now belongs to Baitu County, under the jurisdiction of Xinping County. In the south, it belongs to Yong County, which is under the jurisdiction of qinping county.
Western Wei Dynasty: today, Linyou is under the jurisdiction of Yongxian County in the south, Qishan County in the north, and quail Gu County in the north. Linyou county leads the three counties of Shangyi, Linyou and Purun.
In the early Tang Dynasty, Linyou county was changed to Xilin Prefecture. The first year of Zhenguan (627) abolished the state. Linyou has Linyou County in the East and Purun County in the West. It belongs to Qizhou.
Five Dynasties: Linyou county and Purun county were under the jurisdiction of Fengxiang Prefecture.
In the Northern Song Dynasty, there were two counties, Linyou and Purun, under the jurisdiction of Fengxiang Prefecture, Qinfeng road.
Southern Song Dynasty: early Linyou county and Purun County belong to Qinfeng road. The latter belongs to gold. Change Qinfeng road to Xifeng road. In the 27th year of Jin Dading (1187), Fengxiang road was set up to govern Fengxiang mansion. Linyou and Purun belong to them.
Yuan Dynasty: in 1305, Purun county was abolished and merged into Linyou County under the jurisdiction of Fengxiang Prefecture.

Republic of China: after the revolution of 1911, Linyou County belonged to guanneidao. In 1935, it belonged to the office of administrative inspector of the Ninth District of Shaanxi Province.
In 1946, the people's Government of Linyou county was established. In July, the Kuomintang county government was restored.
On May 21, 1949, Linyou was liberated for the second time. Linyou county was under the jurisdiction of Bin County.
In 1950, Binxian district was abolished and Linyou was assigned to Baoji district. On October 1, 1956, Baoji district was abolished and Linyou county was directly under Shaanxi Province. On December 10, 1958, Linyou County, Qishan County and Fengxiang county were merged into Fengxiang county. On October 9, 1961, Baoji district was restored. In 1934, the district and village system was changed to the joint insurance system. The whole county is divided into 10 joint insurances, under which there are insurances and under which there are class a insurances.
