Kaiping District Kaiping District, under the jurisdiction of Tangshan City, Hebei Province. Located in the eastern Hebei Plain, with Yanshan Mountain in the north and Bohai Sea in the south, Kaiping has been an important town for merchants since ancient times. It is known as "the city of Kaiping which is dissatisfied with the filling up", and is known as the first of the "four famous towns in Jingdong".

Historical evolution
In the spring and Autumn period, it was under the jurisdiction of Shanrong state, and in the Warring States period, it was under the jurisdiction of Yan state.
In the Qin and Han Dynasties, it belongs to youbeiping county. The Eastern Han Dynasty was divided into Haiyang County, xin'anping county and Tuyin county.
During the Three Kingdoms period, it belonged to Haiyang county.
In Sui Dynasty, feiru county was transferred to Xinchang County, and then it was transferred to Lulong County.
In the Tang Dynasty, it was the governing body of Shicheng County.
In the Yuan Dynasty, it was once Qingzhou, then Yifeng county. The jurisdiction of Qing Dynasty was merged into luanzhou and Fengrun county.
In the first year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty, Kaiping zhongtunwei, located in Zhending Prefecture, moved here, hence the name of Kaiping.
In October 1912, the first year of the Republic of China, the Republic of China was established. In the following year, the Prefecture was called County, and luanzhou was changed into Luanxian. Kaiping belongs to Luan county and Fengrun County of jinhaidao in Zhili Province.
In June 1928, Zhili Province was renamed as Hebei Province. At the same time, Dao was abolished and the system was changed into two levels of province and county. Kaiping was subordinate to Luan county and Fengrun County of Hebei Province.
In May 1933, the Kuomintang government and the Japanese army concluded the Tanggu agreement, which divided Eastern Hebei into two "non armed areas".
In November 1935, the traitor Yin rugeng set up the puppet "Jidong anti Communist autonomous government" in Tongxian County under the planning of the Japanese invaders. It governed 22 counties in Eastern Hebei, and Kaiping belonged to it.
After the July 7 Incident in 26, the puppet "Jidong flood control autonomous government" merged with the puppet regime in North China and the provisional government of the Republic of China in February of the Republic of China. The original 22 counties were transferred to Hebei Province and renamed "Jidong road", and Kaiping was under the jurisdiction of the puppet "Jidong Road Office of Hebei Province".
During the Anti Japanese War, fengyuzun, Luanhe, Qianan, fengyuning and fengyuzun were under its jurisdiction. During the war of liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of Eastern Hebei, tangluan office, Luanxi county and Fengnan county.
In 1949, after the founding of new China, most of the villages in today's Kaiping District belong to Fengrun, Luanxian and Fengnan counties.
In October 1956, the rural areas of beiziyuan District, Wali district and Gangyao district were merged to establish the suburb of Tangshan city.
In March 1960, it was abolished and put under the jurisdiction of Tangshan city.
In May 1961, the establishment of the urban area was abolished and it was under the direct leadership of the Tangshan Municipal People's Committee.
