Historical evolution
The origin of place names
The name of Chongguo county was first found in the geographical records of the Han Dynasty, which is one of the 11 counties in Bajun. The origin and meaning of the county name are not recorded in history. According to the textual research of modern people, the border of ancient Chong was originally inhabited by Cong people, and later Ba people came to the south. They called the native Cong people "Chong" by the harmonic rhyme of "cong" and "Chong". Therefore, the name of Chong also means Jimi.
Nanchong County, first seen in the "Huayang annals": "when the emperor and set, there are salt wells, big surname Hou, Qiao family." In 193, Xiandi divided the state into Nanchong county (see xuhanshu and notes). After Nanchong was divided, the state of Nanchong was in the west, so it was later called Xichong. From Shu Han Dynasty to Jin Dynasty, there were two states in Southwest China (Shu Zhi): Qiao Zhou, a native of Xichong; Zhang Yi, a native of Nanchong. See also Jin Zhi. During the period of Li Xiong's rule of Shu, due to the chaos of war, the state of Chong was abandoned (see Huanyu Ji), and the state of Xichong was merged with the state of Nanchong. Therefore, when Chang wrote Huayang Guozhi, only the state of Nanchong was in existence. Liu Song changed Nanchong County into Nanguo county. In the second year of Tianjian (503), Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty changed Nanguo county to Nanbu county. According to this, the name of the county evolved from Chongguo County nanchongguo County Nanguo county. On the other hand, it got its name from Jujun south.
