Xiqing District Xiqing District is the municipal district of Tianjin and one of the four districts around the city. The former name of Xijiao district was changed to Xiqing District in March 1992. The government is located in Yangliuqing town. Xiqing District is located in the southwest of Tianjin, adjacent to Hongqiao District and Nankai District in the East, Duliujian River in the south, Jinghai district across the river, Wuqing District and Bazhou city in Hebei Province in the west, and Ziya River in the north. Xiqing District is the birthplace of Yangliu youth paintings, one of the four major woodcut New Year pictures in China, and the hometown of Huo Yuanjia, a patriotic martial artist in the late Qing Dynasty, founder of Shanghai Jingwu Sports Association and "Jingwu great Xia".
In May 2016, Xiqing District was rated as the fourth batch of national intellectual property demonstration cities by the State Intellectual Property Office. In June 2017, Xiqing District was rated as a national health city (District). On January 25, 2019, it was selected as the national "safe agricultural machinery" Demonstration County in 2018. In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety counties. In June 2020, it was selected as the first batch of national demonstration areas and projects for the construction of rule of law government by the Central Committee of the rule of law; on October 20, it was selected as the national model city (county) with double support.
Historical evolution
The formation of land in Xiqing District began in the middle and late Tang Dynasty. The Northern Song Dynasty was the junction of song and Liao. The Ming Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Hejian Prefecture, Jinghai County and Wuqing County respectively, and the Qing Dynasty was under the jurisdiction of Tianjin Prefecture.
After the founding of the Republic of China in 1912, it was transformed into Tianjin County under the jurisdiction of Zhili Province.
In 1949, after the founding of the people's Republic of China, the office of the Commissioner of Tianjin, Hebei Province, was established. The office is located in Yangliuqing town.
In 1952, Tianjin county was under the jurisdiction of Tianjin city. Originally under the jurisdiction of Jinghai County.
In 1953, the original part of Tianjin county was set up in the western suburb of Tianjin city, and the part of Jinghai County remained unchanged.
In 1955, the western suburb of Tianjin was renamed the western suburb of Tianjin. It is located in the western suburb of Tianjin and Jinghai County of Hebei Province.
In 1958, Tianjin became a city under the jurisdiction of Hebei Province. From 12 districts to 8 districts, the administrative buildings in the suburbs were abolished. The western suburbs are divided into Nankai District and Hexi District of Tianjin. Some areas still belong to Jinghai County.
In 1960, part of Jinghai County belonged to Tianjin urban area. The territory is divided into Nankai District, Heping District and Hexi District of Tianjin.

Relying on the former situation of Nankai District and the former situation of Jinghai County in Hebei Province, Tianjin city, the new administrative construction is still called the western suburb. The Ming Dynasty belonged to Hejian Prefecture, Jinghai County and Wuqing County respectively, while the Qing Dynasty belonged to Tianjin Prefecture. It governs 5 towns and 4 townships: Yangliuqing town, Zhangjiawo Town, Dasi Town, Nanhe Town, wangwenzhuang Town, liqizhuang Township, zhongbeixie Township, shangxinkou Township and Xiyingmen township. The district government is located in Yangliuqing town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Xiqing District is 433697, including 29014 in Xiyingmen street, 34330 in liqizhuang street, 66784 in Zhongbei Town, 105135 in Yangliuqing town, 38324 in Xinkou Town, 36258 in Zhangjiawo Town, 32349 in Nanhe Town, 47860 in Dasi Town, 33525 in wangwenzhuang Town, 5825 in worker peasant alliance farm and 4293 in Yangliuqing farm.
