Shenzhou is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hengshui City, Hebei Province. It is located in the southeast of Hebei Province and the northwest of Hengshui City, 90 kilometers away from Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province. It is adjacent to Raoyang and Anping in the north and Hengshui and Jizhou districts in the south. It borders Wuqiang and Wuyi in the East and Xinji in Shijiazhuang in the West. It is 53 kilometers long from north to South and 39 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 1252 square kilometers, including 1.4 million mu of cultivated land and 570000 population (at the end of 2013).
Shenzhou City was established as a county in the early Han Dynasty and a state in the early Sui Dynasty; in June 1994, the county was removed and the city was established. As of June 2014, Shenzhou has jurisdiction over 18 Township districts, 1 provincial economic development zone and 465 administrative villages, with a total GDP of 12.56 billion yuan in 2013.
With a long history, Shenzhou is the birthplace of Xingyi boxing and the hometown of National Wushu. In September 2020, it will be included in the list of food industry strong counties (cities, districts) (cultivation type) in Hebei Province.

In 621, he returned to Anping and set up Shenzhou. He moved to Raoyang and led Anping, Raoyang and Wuwei counties. Zhenguan seventeen years (643) state abolition. In the second year of Zhou Xiande in the Five Dynasties (955), the Jing'an army was set up in liyankou (now in the west of Jiacheng), and it was transferred to Bo county to govern the county.
Jingan army was abolished in the second year of Yongxi (985), Xiabo County in the third year (986) and Jingan County in the fourth year (987). Since Lu Ze moved to Shenzhou, he led the five counties of Jingan, Shulu, Raoyang, Anping and Wuqiang, belonging to West Hebei road. Lu Ze dismissed it.

In 1928, Zhili was established in Hebei Province. In 1937, Shen county was the ninth administrative supervision district, and its special office was located in Shen county. In March 1945, Shenbei county and Shennan county were merged into Shenxian County; in August, Shenshu county was abolished; in November, Shenshu county was the tenth administrative supervision district, and its special office was still stationed in Shenxian county. In May 1946, it belonged to the 11th special office of Jizhong administrative office. In August 1949, it belonged to Hengshui District of Hebei Province.
In November 1952, it was transferred to Shijiazhuang special district. In March 1960, it was transferred to Shijiazhuang. In May 1961, it was transferred to Shijiazhuang. In July 1962, it was changed to Hengshui area.
On July 4, 1994, with the approval of the State Council, Shen county was abolished and Shenzhou City was established.
On July 10, 1996, Hengshui area was changed into prefecture level Hengshui City, and Shenzhou City still belongs to Hengshui City.
