Yanta District Yanta District is located in the south of Xi'an City, the capital of Shaanxi Province. It is adjacent to Chanhe River in the East and Baqiao District, Weiyang District in the northwest, Chang'an District in the West and south, Lianhu District, Beilin District and Xincheng District in the north, with a total area of 152 square kilometers. By the end of 2019, 10 Yanta District offices were located under the jurisdiction of Yanta District, with a total population of 1 million 946 thousand, including 1 million 299 thousand registered residence population. The district government is located at 168 Xiaozhai East Road, Xi'an city.
Yanta District has a warm temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinct seasons of cold, warm, dry and wet. Yanta District has complete infrastructure, more than 162 municipal roads and 3 subway lines have been built and put into operation, forming a highly efficient, convenient, vertical and horizontal intersection of three-dimensional traffic network. 4.2 million square meters of large-scale commercial facilities have been built in the core area of Yanta District, which has been awarded the honorary title of the first batch of "China key demonstration business circle" in China.
Yanta District is a science, education and cultural tourism area. There are 39 universities, 55 scientific research institutes at or above the provincial level, and more than 140000 professional and technical talents in the area. Historical evolution
In the eighth year of King Cheng of Zhou Dynasty (1007 BC), Tang Dynasty (now northwest of Yicheng County, Shanxi Province) was destroyed, and its people were moved to Du (now in the area of Ducheng village, Yanta District), and Du Bo kingdom was established. In the 43rd year of King Xuan of Zhou Dynasty (785 BC), Du Bo was killed. After King Ping moved to the East, he gave the land of Du to Qin. Qin lived in the West and was unable to occupy Du, so he established dangdu, also known as the state of Du in Tang Dynasty. In the 7th year of King Huan of Zhou Dynasty (713 BC), Qin destroyed dangdu, and in the 11th year of Duke Wu of Qin Dynasty (the 10th year of King Zhuang of Zhou Dynasty, 687 BC), "Chu County Du" was one of the earliest counties in the transition period from enfeoffment system to County system.
In the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (211 BC), after the unification of the six states, the internal history was set up to take charge of the counties in the capital and capital, and Du county was subordinate to it.
The Han Dynasty followed the Qin Dynasty. In the first year of Yuankang (65 BC), Du county was changed into Du Ling county by taking the upper part of Du Dongyuan as "Chu Ling". In the first year of the Wei and Huang dynasties (220), it was renamed Du county. In the first year of Jin Taikang (280), it was renamed Ducheng County, and in the fourth year of Northern Wei Dynasty (431), it was renamed Ducheng county. In the second year of Emperor Ming of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (558), Wannian county was set up in the east of Chang'an, and in the second year of Jiande (573), Du county was removed and merged into Chang'an and Wannian counties.
In 583, Wannian county was changed to Daxing County, with Zhuque street as the central axis, Changan County in the West and Daxing County in the East.
In 618, Daxing County was renamed Wannian county. In the first year of Qianfeng (666), Qianfeng county was set up in the southeast of Chang'an County. Huaizhenfang (now North of Jixiang village, Yanta District) was set up in the county. In the third year of Chang'an in Wuzhou (703), it was abolished and merged into Chang'an County.
In 1125, the seventh year of Xuanhe in the Northern Song Dynasty, Fanchuan county was Gengnian county. In 1181, Fanchuan county was changed into Xianning county.
During the yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, there was no significant change in the division of the two counties in Yanta District.
In 1913, Xianning county was abolished, and now part of Xianning in Yanta District was under the jurisdiction of Chang'an County.
In September 1944, the Xi'an municipal government was established, which put the four townships under the jurisdiction of Chang'an County into the jurisdiction of the urban area, namely, Chanhe central line in the East, hehe central line in the west, miaojiazhai, xinkaimen, songjiahuayuan, wujiafen and Zhangbagou in the south, guangtaimiao Shizi, Baihua Village, wengjiazhuang and liujiazhai in the north.
In November 1945, Xi'an city was divided into districts. According to the sequence, today's Yanta District is named the ninth district. It is adjacent to district 10 (Changle District, renamed in 1954) in the East and District 12 (Afang District, renamed in 1954) in the West. It is bounded by the city wall in the north and connected with Chang'an County in the south. The administrative office (District Office) was first stationed in Guanyintang Baomin primary school (now at Xi'an Hotel on Chang'an North Road), and then moved to Mingsheng Village (now northeast of Shaanxi Bureau of Surveying and mapping on Youyi East Road).
On May 20, 1949, Xi'an was liberated. Yanta District still uses the name of the Ninth District of Xi'an City, and the District People's government is stationed in Mingsheng village.
On December 21, 1954, according to the notice of Xi'an Municipal People's government, the Ninth District of Xi'an city was abolished and Yanta District of Xi'an city was established.
In January 1955, the first people's Congress of Yanta District renamed the people's Government of Yanta District as the people's Committee of Xi'an city according to the organic law of local people's congresses and local people's committees at all levels of the people's Republic of China.
In May 1960, the people's Committee of Xi'an city decided to divide the five sub district offices of West Street of Lianhu District, Heping Road, nanyuanmen, South Street and baishulin of Beilin District into Yanta District.
In October 1965, the people's Committee of Xi'an city decided to abolish the system of Yanta District, Afang District, Weiyang District and Baqiao District, and jointly set up the suburbs of Xi'an city. The District People's Committee is located in Xiaozhai East Road.
In April 1980, the people's Government of Xi'an decided to abolish the system of Xi'an suburb and restore Yanta District.
