Liucheng county has a long history. It was founded in 537, the third year of Liang Datong in the Southern Dynasty. It was formerly called Longcheng County, and was renamed Liucheng County in 1006. Liucheng county's "Shuangsha" urban roads, Luorong Dongquan first-class highway, national highway 323 (Luzhai Liucheng section) second-class highway and other roads were orderly promoted, and the "three vertical and three horizontal" external network within Liucheng county was accelerated. History of construction
Before Longcheng county was built in the northern and Southern Dynasties, it belonged to Tanzhong county.
In 537, Longcheng county was set up from Tanzhong County, belonging to Shi'an County of Guizhou.
Sui kaihuang nine years (589), belongs to Guizhou. Daye three years (607), belongs to Shi'an county.
Tang Wude four years (621), set up Longzhou, jurisdiction Longcheng, Liuling county. In 633, Liuling county was merged into Longcheng county and Longzhou was abolished. Longcheng county was under the jurisdiction of Nankun state. Nankunzhou was changed to Liuzhou in the eighth year of Zhenguan, Liuzhou to Longcheng in the first year of Tianbao (742), and Longcheng to Liuzhou in the first year of Qianyuan (758).
In 927, Longcheng County belonged to Liuzhou, the state of Chu. In 948, Liuzhou entered the territory of the Southern Han Dynasty, and Longcheng County belonged to Liuzhou.
In 971, Longcheng County belonged to Liuzhou, Guangnan road. In the third year of Zhidao (997), it belonged to Liuzhou, Guangnan West Road. In 1006, Longcheng county was renamed Liucheng County, still belonging to Liuzhou. In the first year of Xianchun (1265), Liuzhou moved to longjiangnan, which is now Nandan village.
Yuan to Yuan 16 years (1279), set up Liuzhou Road office, Liucheng county is Liuzhou Road.
In 1368, Liucheng County belonged to Liuzhou Prefecture.
In 1651, Liucheng County belonged to Liuzhou Prefecture of Guangxi Province.

On November 24, 1949, Liucheng county was liberated, belonging to Liuzhou special area.
In July 1952, Liuzhou District was merged into Yishan District, and Liucheng county was subordinate to Yishan district.
In July 1958, the resident of Yishan Special District moved from Qingyuan town of Yishan county to Liuzhou City, renamed Liuzhou Special District, which belongs to Liucheng county.
On February 10, 1984, Liucheng county was separated from Liuzhou area and under the jurisdiction of Liuzhou city.

In the early years of the Republic of China, Liucheng county was divided into urban area, Dongquan District, Dapu District, Taiping District, Guzhai District, Luoya district and Liutang District, and five regiments were set up in Toutang, shanglei, Longtou, Shapu and Zhongmai
In 1932, after the establishment of the autonomous Preparatory Committee, it was divided into three districts, 24 townships and 233 village streets.
In 1950, there were five districts in Liucheng County, namely, Dapu, Dongquan, Guzhai, Liutang and Chengguan (Fengshan).
On February 9, 1951, Liucheng county changed the original five districts into 16 districts of Dapu, Taiping, Shapu, Dongquan, Shatang, Chengguan, Liutang, chongmai, Luoya and Guzhai, with jurisdiction over 94 townships (towns). In October of the same year, Shapu district and chongmai district were abolished and merged into Taiping District and Liutang district respectively.
In February 1956, Liucheng county was divided into 8 districts, 3 towns and 91 townships.

On June 6, 1961, Liucheng County transformed 16 people's communes into 23 people's communes: Taiping, Jiangtou, Yangmei, Shapu, shangleidongquan, Yonghe, Xi'an, Fengshan, shechong, Longtou, Dapu Town, Dapu, Luoya, Santang, zhailong, Guzhai, Yunfeng, Longmei, Liutang, Mashan, Layan and chongmai.
