Shanxian County, formerly known as Danfu, belongs to Heze City, Shandong Province. It is located in the southwest of Shandong Province, at the junction of eight counties in four provinces of Jiangsu, Shandong, Henan and Anhui. It's named after the residence of Emperor Shun's master, Dan Juan. It's the hometown of Lu pheasant.
Covering an area of 1702 square kilometers, the single county governs 22 townships (offices), 1 provincial economic and Technological Development Zone, 1 provincial tourist resort (Fulong lake ecological and Cultural Tourism Development Zone), and 502 administrative villages. In late 2018, the total registered residence of Shanxian County was 1 million 275 thousand and 500, and the total annual output value was 35 billion 77 million yuan.
Shan county, located in the center of North China Plain, is China's commodity grain and cotton, oil base and plain greening standard county. Evolution of organizational system
Shan county was called Shan Fu in ancient times. The teacher of Emperor Shun lived in Shan Juan, so it got its name.
King Cheng of Zhou granted Shaozi the title of Danzi state. In the early spring and Autumn period of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to the state of song and later to the state of Lu.
In the early Warring States period, it returned to the state of song. After the Song Dynasty was destroyed, it belonged to the state of Qi.
Qin set up Danfu County, belonging to Dang County, which was the beginning of the establishment of Danfu county.
In the Han Dynasty, it was the county Marquis state three times and the county Kingdom one time. In Sui Dynasty, Danfu county was restored.
At the end of Tang Dynasty, Huizhou was established.
In the first year of Hongwu (1368) of Ming Dynasty, Danfu county was removed, and its land was directly under Danzhou. In July of the next year, Danzhou was named Shan county, which has been used up to now.
During the period of the Republic of China, it successively belonged to Jining Dao, Cao PuDao and the second and eleventh special offices of the Kuomintang in Shandong Province. In 1939, the Japanese Invading Army established the puppet Shan county office. In March 1940, the Communist Party established the Shan county Anti Japanese government in Zhangzhai area in the southeast of Shan county. In July 1943, Jincao County Anti Japanese government was established in the northeast of Shan county. In June 1944, the Anti Japanese government of Linhe county was established in the southwest of Shan county; in September, Dangshan County was established on the basis of Caitang and Wuliu areas in the southeast of Shan county (it was once changed into huadang County in 1947). In December 1945, Linhe county was changed into Danyu county. In February 1946, Jincao county was abolished.
In February 1949, Dangshan County and Yucheng County (dongyucheng county) in the north of the old Yellow River were assigned to Danyu county. In August, the Huxi special office of Pingyuan province settled in Shan county. At the same time, Danyu county was abolished and the original construction was restored.
In November 1952, Huxi district was transferred to Shandong Province. In August 1953, Huxi district was abolished, and single county belonged to Heze district. In December 1958, Heze district was abolished and changed to Jining district.
In July 1959, Heze district was restored to Heze district and now belongs to Heze City.

On May 14, 2002, Shan county abolished Longwangmiao Township and established Longwangmiao town. Its administrative region and people's government's residence remained unchanged. As of December 31, 2002, single county has jurisdiction over 16 towns and 4 townships.
In October 2010, Li Tianlou township was abolished, and Li Tianlou town was established in its original administrative region, and the town government was stationed in the former Li Tianlou township government; Xie Ji township was abolished, and Xie Ji town was established in its original administrative region, and the town government was stationed in the former Xie Ji township government; sunliu town was abolished, and Dongcheng Street was established in its original administrative region, and the sub district office was stationed in sunliu town government.

Shan county belongs to the alluvial plain of the Yellow River, and the county is adjacent to the old course of the Yellow River in the south. In history, due to the influence of the flood and alluvial of the Yellow River breach, six types of micro geomorphology were formed, including river, beach, hill, slope and depression. The county is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with the highest elevation of 59 meters and the lowest elevation of 39.5 meters. The southern edge of the county is the bottom of the old Yellow River, which is low-lying. In the year of waterlogging, belt or hoof like swamps of different lengths are often formed, with a total area of 24.5 square kilometers. Along the north of Gudao river bottom and south of linhuang dyke, it is a beach area formed by floodplain deposition of the Yellow River. The terrain is higher, about 58 meters higher than the Beihe trough depression in the north of the beach, with a total area of 139.84 square kilometers. The back channel depression is 48 square kilometers. In 1786, when the Yellow River burst in the southwest of Shanshan, the sediment carried by the current was deposited in a fan-shaped area. The terrain extends from the southwest to the northeast along the Dasha River and its tributaries in a fan-shaped way, covering an area of 174.6 square kilometers. The terrain on both sides of the fan-shaped zone is gentle and flat, covering an area of 1224.13 square kilometers. The rest are single northwest shallow depression.
