Liangzihu District Liangzihu District, belonging to Ezhou City, is located in the South Bank of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, in the southeast of Hubei Province, at the junction of Huangshi City in the East.
Historical evolution
In the spring and Autumn period, it was the state of Chu, and in the Warring States period, it was in the middle of Chu and Guizhou.
In the thirtieth year of emperor Zhaoxiang of Qin Dynasty (277 BC), Qianzhong county was set up, and the county was located in Qianzhong County of Qin Dynasty.
In the sixth year of emperor Gaodi of the Western Han Dynasty (201 BC), Qianzhong county was changed into Wuling County, and the county was under the jurisdiction of Fuling county.
In the first year of Xinmang's founding (9), Wuling county was changed into Jianping County, and Fuling County into Fuling County, and the county was then subordinate to Fulu County of Jianping County.
During the period of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-56), the county still belongs to Fuling County, Wuling county.
During the period of the Three Kingdoms, Wu general LV Meng, in 219, the 24th year of Jian'an, was next to the prefect of Nanjun and ruled Gongan city as an apprentice. Fuling county was changed to Nanjun, and the county was located in Fuling County of Wunan county.
In the first year of Taikang (280) in the Western Jin Dynasty, Du planned Jingzhou, changed Nanjun into Nanping Jun, and divided Fuling County into Nanan County, belonging to Nanping Jun.
In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it was still a county of Nanping County.
In 422, Nanan county was changed into Annam County, which was subordinate to Nanping internal history.
Qi inherited the system of Song Dynasty and was still named Annan, belonging to Nanping County. In the second year of Tianjian reign of Emperor Wu of Liang Dynasty (503), Nanan county was established. Soon after that, Nanping County was abolished and still belonged to Annam county. During the reign of emperor Liang Jingdi (555-557), Nan'an, Hunan and Hubei were established, adjacent to Annan and now Shishou, Hubei.
Nan'an, Hunan and Hubei were abandoned in the Southern Dynasties, and Nan'an county still belonged to Nanping County.
In the early Sui Dynasty, Chen's name was used.
In 598 of kaihuang's 18th year, Nanan county was changed to Huarong County and transferred to baling county. At the beginning of Yangdi's Daye, baling county was renamed Luozhou, and the county belonged to Luozhou. In the third year of Daye (607), Luozhou was abandoned as a county and changed to baling County, which was restored to baling county.
In the fourth year of Wude (621 AD), Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Jiangxia county was changed to Ezhou. In the first year of Zhenguan (627 AD), Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty divided the whole country into ten branches. Wuchang belonged to Jiangnan and Ezhou. In the 21st year of Kaiyuan (733 AD), Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty divided Jiangnan Road into East and West roads, belonging to Wuchang County of Ezhou, the West Road of Jiangnan.
In the second year of Zhidao reign of Emperor Taizong of the Northern Song Dynasty (996 AD), the territory belongs to Wuchang County, Jiangxia County, Ezhou. In the third year of the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Northern Song Dynasty (997 AD), there were 15 roads in the world, and Ezhou belonged to Jinghu road. In the second year of Xianping of Zhenzong in the Northern Song Dynasty (A.D. 999), Jinghu road was divided into Jinghu road and Jinghu North Road, belonging to Wuchang County, Jiangxia County, Ezhou.

In 1913 (the second year of the Republic of China), it was located in Wuchang County, Wuhan, Hubei Province. In January 1914 (the third year of the Republic of China), the territory belongs to Echeng County of Edong Road (Jianghan Road) in Hubei Province.
In 1996, Liangzi Lake area was 482.5 square kilometers, with a population of about 179000. It has jurisdiction over 5 towns and 2 townships: Donggou Town, Changling Town, Liangzi Town, tujianao Town, Taihe Town, marsh mountain township and Gongyou township. There is a state farm and an economic and Technological Development Zone. The district government is located in Taihe Town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Liangzihu district is 173896, including 47731 in Taihe Town, 19286 in Donggou Town, 14731 in Changling Town, 3058 in Liangzi Town, 16058 in tujianao Town, 38263 in marsh Town, 19355 in Gongyou town and 15414 in Changgang administrative district.

On September 6, 2007, the reply of Hubei Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on the establishment of Liangzi town in Liangzihu District of Ezhou City (e-civil affairs FA No. 53): with the approval of the provincial people's government, Liangzi town was approved to be established in Liangzihu District of Ezhou city. Eight village committees under the jurisdiction of Donggou Town, including Liubin, Shawan, modaoji, Liuhe, Longtang, Maotang, Maoqi, Baiyan, and two neighborhood committees of Changling and Liangzi, were transferred to Liangzi town Jurisdiction, the town people's Government in Changling. According to the sixth census in 2010, there are 142608 permanent residents in Liangzihu District, 45473 in Taihe Town, 20860 in Donggou Town, 16044 in Liangzi Town, 26376 in tujianao town and 33855 in marsh town.

As of 2013, the total land area of the region is 482.5 square kilometers, accounting for 0.29% of the total area of the province, including 11500 hectares of cultivated land, 7082 hectares of forest land and 12700 hectares of water area. As of 2013, there are 32535 mu of mountain forest, 58000 mu of newly planted Populus euramericana, 18.4% of forest coverage, and 153100 cubic meters of standing trees. There are 198 families, 1134 genera and more than 3600 kinds of plant resources in the region, among which there are more than 1000 kinds of woody plants alone. Ginkgo biloba, Cinnamomum camphora, Pinus tabulaeformis and other rare plants are special products. Liangzi Lake area has a variety of biological resources, phytoplankton 27 families, 40 genera, higher plants 84 families, 137 species of birds, including 5 species of national class I protected birds, 15 species of class II protected birds, 86 species of provincial protected birds. Liangzihu district has unique agricultural and sideline products resources. The mountain forest and hillock area of the region is 75 square kilometers, rich in traditional Chinese medicine, sweet potato, tea, Huyou, Jiaotou, Qianzhang and other agricultural products. There are many kinds of aquatic resources in the region, rich in crab, silver fish, red tail fish, Wuchang fish, pearl and other aquatic products.

As of 2013, the total amount of water resources in Liangzi Lake area is 90 million cubic meters, including 70 million cubic meters of surface water resources and 30 million cubic meters of groundwater resources. The per capita water resources is 280 cubic meters, accounting for 34% of the city's per capita water resources. Liangzi Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Hubei Province
