In 1941, Yongji County was renamed Jilin county because its Japanese pronunciation was similar to Yanji county.
In 1945, Yongji County was renamed after the restoration of Northeast China. In the 34th year of the Republic of China (August 17, 1945), Yongji County Security Council was established, located in the north of Yongji Hutong, Jilin City. In December of the same year, a democratic government led by the Communist Party of China was established in Yongji County, which took over the political power of Yongji County. The county organ was located in Jilin City.
In February 1946, the county democratic government moved to kouqian, and Yongji County was under the jurisdiction of Jilin Province under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
From May 28, 1946 to March 9, 1948, the Kuomintang established Yongji County Government in Yongji. The county government was located in Jilin City, which was directly under Jilin Province established by the Kuomintang.
