Dantu District, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province. Located in the southwest of Jiangsu Province, around Zhenjiang city. The geographical coordinates are 119 ° 15 ′ - 119 ° 45 ′ E and 31 ° 15 ′ - 32 ° 16 ′ n. It faces Yangzhong, Yangzhou and Yizheng in the East and North, Danyang in the southeast, Jintan in the South and Jurong in the West. It covers an area of 611 square kilometers. Historical evolution
According to the earliest extant biographies of Zhenjiang in the song and Yuan Dynasties, it belonged to Wu in the spring and Autumn period and was named Zhu Fang. Wu died in Yue, Yue died in Chu, renamed Guyang.
In the 26th year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (221 BC), the six states were destroyed, the enfeoffment was abolished, and the prefectures and counties were set up. In the 37th year, some celestial observers said that Guyang had the spirit of the emperor. The first emperor ordered three thousand Zheyi disciples to chisel the southern ridge of Jingxian in order to defeat the spirit, so he changed Guyang into a Dantu.
In the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (201 BC), Liu Jia, his subordinate brother, was granted the title of king of Jing, the state of Jing, and Dantu was his county. In the 12th year, the yingbu rebellion killed Liu Jia. After Gaozu put an end to the rebellion, Liu Jia's feudal land was changed to his brother and son Liu Bi, and the name was changed to Wu. Dantu County belonged to Wu. In the third year of the reign of emperor Jing (154 BC), Liu Bianfan was defeated, and Dantu County belonged to Jiangdu state. In the second year of Yuanshou reign of Emperor Wu (121 BC), the Jiangdu kingdom was divided into Kuaiji Prefecture. Shundi Yongjian four years (129), branch Jijun thirteen counties home Wujun, Dantu is one of the thirteen counties.
In the third year of Jiahe (234), Emperor Wu of the Three Kingdoms changed Dantu to Wujin, belonging to piling Diannong Xiaowei.
In 281, the second year of Taikang, Emperor Wu of the Western Jin Dynasty, the Agricultural School of piling was abolished and Kunling county was set up.
In the fifth year of Yongjia (311), Kunling county was renamed Jinling county.
In the eighth year of Yuanjia (431), Emperor Wen of the Southern Song Dynasty, Dantu County was designated as South Donghai County. Liang changed South Donghai County to Lanling County, and Chen Fu changed to South Donghai County, all of which led Dantu County.

In 620 of Wude, Emperor Gaozu of Tang Dynasty, Runzhou and Dantu counties were restored. Dantu belonged to Runzhou and governed Jingkou. In the first year of emperor Qianyuan of suzong (758), Zhejiang Xidao was set up and Danyang county was changed into Runzhou. Dantu County belongs to Runzhou, Zhejiang Xidao. In 780, the first year of Dezong's Jianzhong reign, the eastern and Western roads of Zhejiang Province were combined to form the eastern and Western roads of Zhejiang Province. The next year, the navy was granted the name of the town, leading Runzhou, and Dantu was a county of Runzhou.
During the Five Dynasties, Runzhou and Dantu belonged to Wu state first, and then to the Southern Tang Dynasty.
In the third year of the reign of Emperor Taizong of the Song Dynasty (997), the whole country was divided into 15 roads. Dantu County was under the jurisdiction of Runzhou, Liangzhe road. Since then, the two Zhejiang roads have been divided several times, and Dantu County belongs to Runzhou, the West Zhejiang Road. In the third year of huizongzhenghe (1113), Runzhou was promoted to Zhenjiang Prefecture.
In 1276, there were 11 provinces of xingzhongshu in China. Zhenjiangfu was upgraded to Lu, and Dantu County was zhenjianglu, a province of xingzhongshu in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
In the year of bingshen, Emperor Taizu of the Ming Dynasty (1356), Zhenjiang road was changed into Jianghuai Prefecture, and soon Zhenjiang Prefecture was changed to govern Dantu County.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Nanjing was changed into Jiangnan province. In 1667, Jiangnan province was divided into Jiangsu Province and Anhui Province, and Dantu County belonged to Zhenjiang Prefecture of Jiangsu Province.
In 1853, Taiping army conquered Zhenjiang. In 1857, Dantu County was subordinate to Zhenjiang County, Tianjing province of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the government was abolished and the county was built. Three years later, it was changed to Jinling Road. In 17, the road was abandoned and directly under the jurisdiction of the province. Dantu County was changed to Zhenjiang County, which is still under the jurisdiction of the province. The next year, the capital of Jiangsu Province moved to Zhenjiang.
During the Anti Japanese War, Wang Jingwei came down to Japan and established a puppet national government in Nanjing; after the victory of the Anti Japanese War, the government of the Republic of China was still in Nanjing, and Zhenjiang county has always been under the jurisdiction of the province.
In 1938, after the New Fourth Army marched into the south of the Yangtze River, the anti enemy Association of Zhenjiang, Ju, Jin and Dan counties was established in Zhenjiang County, acting as the administrative power. Since then, Shanbei, Shannan, Maodong, Zhenju, Jiangzhen (Office) and Zhendan counties have been established in Zhenjiang county and adjacent areas.
In April 1949, Zhenjiang was liberated and divided into Zhenjiang City and Dantu County. The county people's government was stationed in Xinfeng Town and moved to Zhenjiang in just over a month. The urban area is under the jurisdiction of the city, and the suburbs and rural areas are under the jurisdiction of the Zhenjiang District of the southern Jiangsu administrative region.
In 1953, the southern and Northern Jiangsu administrative regions were abolished and Jiangsu Province was established. In 1958, Zhenjiang District was renamed Changzhou District, and Dantu County was incorporated into Zhenjiang city. The next year, Changzhou district was renamed Zhenjiang District. In 1962, Dantu County was restored to Zhenjiang District. In 1968, Dantu County revolutionary committee moved to Jianbi Wangjia garden, and in 1971, it relocated to Zhenjiang. That year, Zhenjiang District was renamed Zhenjiang District, and still governs Dantu County. In March 1983, the new system of city leading county was implemented. Zhenjiang District was abolished, Zhenjiang city was changed into a provincial city, and Dantu County was under the jurisdiction of Zhenjiang city.
On April 3, 2002, the State Council approved (Guo Han No. 24): to abolish Dantu County and establish Dantu District of Zhenjiang City, with the former administrative region of Dantu County as the administrative region of Dantu District.
