Huangchuan County Huangchuan County, subordinate to Xinyang City, Henan Province, is located in the southeast of Henan Province and the Middle East of Xinyang City, with a total area of 1666.1 square kilometers. It was called Guangzhou in ancient times. On March 1, 1913, Guangzhou was changed to Huangchuan County. In 1998, Xinyang was set up as a city, and Huangchuan County was subordinate to Xinyang City. Historically, Huangchuan (Guangzhou) has long been the political, economic and cultural center of Southeast Henan, known as "the important town of Heluo, the upper reaches of Wu and Chu". It is the hometown of Huang Xie, the emperor of Chunshen, and Chen Yuanguang, the sage king of Kaizhang. Huangchuan County has a long history and many heroes come out in large numbers. It is also a place where people and culture gather.
Huangchuan integrates highway, railway (Beijing Kowloon Railway, Ningxi railway, Beijing Kowloon high-speed railway, Hekang high-speed railway), waterway and aviation. It is known as the "Golden Triangle" at the junction of Hubei, Henan and Anhui, and is a regional central city in Dabie Mountain area. Huangchuan has a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons, abundant rainfall, fertile land and rich products. Historical evolution
Huangchuan gets its name because Huanghe River, a tributary of Huaihe River, passes through the city.
Huangchuan has a long history and belongs to the southern limit of Peiligang culture. During the period of Emperor Huang, it was the kingdom of light, and Yu Gong was recorded as the territory of Yangzhou.
It was the state of Huang in the Western Zhou Dynasty and the spring and Autumn period. It belonged to Chu during the Warring States period. Shu Dan, a descendant of the state of Huang, was granted the title of emperor of Huang by Chu. Although the state of Huang died and its name still exists, its size is more than half. What remains is basically the present Huangchuan area.
Qin belongs to Jiujiang county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, Yiyang County was set up, belonging to Runan County. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was the Marquis state of Yiyang.
In the Three Kingdoms, Wei and Western Jin Dynasty, Yiyang County was set up and governed by Yiyang County.
In the northern and Southern Dynasties, in the Northern Qi Dynasty, a new Yiyang County was set up in the southern city of Huangchuan, facing the former Yiyang County from the north to the south. In the first year of Wuping (570), Yiyang in the north of the province entered into Yiyang in the south, and changed its name to Dingcheng county. Later Yiyang County was changed to Nanying state. In the 11th year of Chen Yidi's Taijian reign (579), Emperor Jingdi of the Northern Zhou Dynasty captured Dingcheng, changed Yiyang County into Huainan County, and Dingcheng was the county government.
In 581, Emperor Wen of the Sui Dynasty abolished Huainan County, restored Yiyang County, and established Dingcheng county.
In the early Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Guangzhou, belonging to Huainan road.
In Song Dynasty, Guangzhou county was changed to Huainan West Road.
In Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Runan Prefecture.
In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Fengyang Prefecture first and then to runing Prefecture.
At the beginning of Qing Dynasty, Shengguang Prefecture became Zhili Prefecture, which was under the jurisdiction of Henan provincial governor.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the state county was abolished and Guangzhou was changed into Huangchuan County, belonging to Yunan Road (renamed Runan road the next year). In 1932, the office of the inspector general of the ninth administrative region of Henan Province was set up here.
In March 1949, the people's Government of Huangchuan County was established, and the Huangchuan special office was set up in the same year.
In December 1952, Huangchuan special office was cancelled. Huangchuan County belongs to Xinyang special office.
In 1998, Xinyang was set up as a city, and Huangchuan County was subordinate to Xinyang City.

Huangchuan County is located in the southeast of Henan Province, in the middle of Xinyang City, with Dabie Mountains in the South and Huaihe River in the north. It is located in the connecting zone of Henan, Hubei and Anhui provinces, between 114 ° 53 ′ ~ 115 ° 21 ′ in the East and 31 ° 52 ′ ~ 32 ° 22 ′ in the north. The topography of the whole county is undulating, with pits and ponds scattered all over the county. It is high in the South and low in the north, and slightly tilts to the northeast. Ridges and hills alternate with rivers in the county, extending parallel to the north and south, with the highest altitude of 330m and the lowest altitude of 29m. In the South and Southeast, there are shallow hills; in the middle, there are huaifenggang, Qiligang and huangsigang ridges in the north-south direction; between the ridges and hills, from west to East, there are long and narrow river valley plain formed by river alluvial. The mountainous area of the county is 189.9 square kilometers, the hilly area is 1094.6 square kilometers, and the plain area is 381.6 square kilometers, accounting for 11.4%, 65.7%, and 22.9% of the total area respectively.
