Ningxian county belongs to Qingyang City, Gansu Province. It is located in the east of Gansu Province, between 107 ° 41 ′ e to 108 ° 34 ′ E and 35 ° 15 ′ n to 35 ° 52 ′ n. It is connected with Ziwuling in the East, Jinghe River in the South and Shaanxi Province. It is adjacent to Heshui County, Xifeng district and Zhengning County in the northwest and Southeast respectively. There are many famous scenic spots in Ningxian County, such as Xiangle song tower, Zhenyuan bronze bell of Puzhao temple, five generations tower of taerzhuang, Memorial Hall of martyr Wang Xiaoxi, etc.

Historical evolution
During the Xia and Shang Dynasties, Ningxian was the birthplace of the Zhou nationality.
Qin Shihuang visited Beidi County several times, and Meng Tian was ordered to build Zhidao. The straight way passes through the county, which is about 60 kilometers from the main ridge of Ziwuling, making Ningxian a military important place for Xianyang.
In the Han Dynasty, there were six counties (roads) in Niyang, Dayao, Yiju, Pengyang, Xiangle and Yiqu. In 30 A.D., Feng Yi, a great general in the west, marched into Yiqu county and led the northern prefect to control this important military area.
In the Wei and Jin Dynasties, Ningxian belonged to anding County of Yongzhou.
In the Northern Wei Dynasty, Huazhou, banzhou and Chenzhou were successively set up, with jurisdiction over Northwest, Zhaoxing and Xiangle counties and 10 counties.
