General situation

In November 1992, the State Council approved the establishment of Qingdao high tech Industrial Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as Qingdao high tech Zone) with a planned area of 9.8 square kilometers. In June 2006, the State Council approved the expansion of the high tech Zone in the north of Jiaozhou Bay, covering an area of 9.95 square kilometers.
