Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County belongs to Laibin city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is located in the main mountain range of Dayao Mountain in the east of Central Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and northeast of Laibin city. It spans between 23 ° 41'20 ″ - 24 ° 27'58 ″ N and 109 ° 48'47 ″ - 110 ° 27'20 ″ E. It is connected with Mengshan County in the East, Pingnan County, Guiping City and Wuxuan County in the south, Xiangzhou County in the west, Luzhai county and Lipu city in the north. The Autonomous County has a maximum horizontal distance of 62.4 km from east to west and a maximum vertical distance of 93 km from north to south, covering an area of 2468.7901 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 7 townships, with a total population of 154600 (2014). In 2015, the GDP of Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County reached 407 million yuan.
The main tourist attractions of Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County are Lianhua Mountain, Shengtang mountain, Luohan mountain, Banxian Canyon, huawang villa, Primeval Forest Resort and silver fir park.
Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County has the titles of "Guangxi's largest water source forest area", "national Pearl River Basin shelter forest construction source demonstration county", "Dayaoshan National Forest Park", "Dayaoshan National Nature Reserve". In 2011 and 2013, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County was awarded the honorary title of "national advanced county in scientific and technological progress" by the Ministry of science and technology. On September 26, 2018, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County won the title of "China's natural oxygen bar" in 2018. Historical evolution
Before Yonglong of Tang Dynasty, the eastern, Western and southern parts of Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County were under the jurisdiction of Gong (now Pingnan), Meng (now Mengshan) and Xiang (now Xiangzhou). After Yonglong and during the Five Dynasties, they were under the jurisdiction of Sitang prefecture (Tangshu geography annals and Yudi Guangzhi). In the north, Jinxiu town and triangle area were under the control of Lipu County and xiuren County in ancient times. In Ming Dynasty, the whole county belonged to the area of daengxia. In the Qing Dynasty, the whole territory of Dayao Mountain was further divided into counties and states around the mountain, and the boundaries of counties and states in Yao mountain were defined.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the Kuomintang reactionary government began to set up the Jinxiu police station in Dayaoshan.
In 1942, it was changed to Jinxiu to set up a governing Bureau, which administrated Dayaoshan area militarily, but administratively, it was still divided into seven counties, including xiuren, Lipu, Mengshan, Pingnan, Guiping, Wuxuan and Xiangzhou.
In February 1951, Yongning Township and Chongyi Township were merged into Jinxiu Yao Autonomous Region under the jurisdiction of xiuren County; gupu Township and lingzu Township were merged into lingzu Yao Autonomous Region under the jurisdiction of Mengshan county.
In August 1951, xiuren county was dissolved and merged into Lipu County. Jinxiu Yao Autonomous Region belongs to Lipu County. Tongmu, Qijian, Toupai, Sanjiang and other districts of xiuren county were also included in Lipu County. Other townships are still under the jurisdiction of Xiangzhou County, Wuxuan County, Guiping county and Pingnan County.
On May 28, 1952, Dayaoshan Yao Autonomous Region (county level) was officially established under the jurisdiction of Pingle special region. The district governs Jinxiu.
On August 26, 1955, it was renamed Dayaoshan Yao Autonomous County.
In 1958, it was changed to Liuzhou District.
On April 8, 1966, it was renamed Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County with the approval of the State Council.
In 1996, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County covers an area of 2494 square kilometers and has a population of about 140000. It has jurisdiction over 3 towns and 8 townships: Jinxiu Town, Tongmu Town, Toupai Town, Sanjiao Town, Zhongliang Town, luoxiang Town, Liuxiang Town, Dazhang Town, Changdong Town, Sanjiang Town and Qijian town. The county government is located in Jinxiu town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County has a total population of 134934. Among them, there are 16344 in Jinxiu Town, 34180 in Tongmu Town, 18518 in Toupai Town, 5307 in Sanjiao Township, 9397 in Zhongliang Township, 10985 in luoxiang Township, 5117 in Changdong Township, 9868 in Dazhang Township, 5005 in Liuxiang Township, 10677 in Qijian Township and 9536 in Sanjiang township.
In 2003, Jinxiu Yao Autonomous County has jurisdiction over three towns and eight townships: Jinxiu Town, Tongmu Town, Toupai Town, Sanjiao Town, Zhongliang Town, luoxiang Town, Changdong Town, Dazhang Town, Liuxiang Town, Qijian town and Sanjiang Town.
On June 13, 2005, the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (GZH No. 167) agreed to abolish Qijian Township, merge the whole system into Tongmu Town, and keep the residence of Tongmu town government unchanged.
