Zhanggong District Zhanggong District, located in the northwest of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, was established in June 1999 by the former county-level Ganzhou City. It covers an area of 425.5 square kilometers and has a total population of 730000. It has jurisdiction over 7 streets and 8 towns.
Ganxian was set up in the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (201 BC). Because of "fuking Baiyue in the South and looking Zhongzhou in the north", Ganxian became a transportation hub connecting the north and the South and an important military town in Lingbei. It was the transit station and birthplace of Hakka ancestors moving south. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Ganxian became one of the 36 major cities in China, known as "tongshaoguan and tieganzhou". Historical celebrities such as Su Dongpo, Xin Qiji and Wen Tianxiang left their political achievements here. Neo Confucianism masters such as Zhou Dunyi, Cheng Hao, Cheng Yi and Wang Yangming made Ganzhou the birthplace of Neo Confucianism in song and Ming Dynasties. Cultural relics and scenic spots rank the first in the province, gathering the "four ancient of Song Dynasty": the most complete ancient city wall of Song Dynasty preserved in China, Tongtianyan, the first grotto in the south of the Yangtze River, Qili ancient kiln site, the ancient floating bridge with a history of more than 800 years, as well as 84 tourist attractions and more than 230 places of interest such as bajingtai and yugutai. Zehui ancient and modern is praised by experts as China's urban construction site Fushougou, a miracle underground drainage system in Song Dynasty, is known as "song city museum" and "national historical and cultural city".
Zhanggong district is located at the intersection of "one vertical and one horizontal" high-speed railway arteries between Chang Gan Shen and Yu Chang Xia. The expressways of Da Guang, Ji Guang and Xia Rong form a ring network in the territory. Ganjiang River is formed by the confluence of Zhangjiang River and Gongjiang River under the Bajing platform. The left "Zhang" and the right "Gong" are collectively called Ganjiang. Therefore, Zhanggong district is also known as "the first city of Ganjiang River for thousands of miles". Surrounded by water on three sides and three rivers and six banks, the city is one of the top ten livable cities in China.
In July 2019, it will be selected as the pilot county (District) of the national intellectual property project. In October 2019, it was rated as one of the top 100 science and technology innovation zones in China in 2019.

Ganzhou Songcheng ancient charm
Zhanggong District of Ganzhou city belonged to Yangzhou before the Western Zhou Dynasty; it was the place of Baiyue in the spring and Autumn period; it belonged to Yue first and then Chu in the Warring States period; Qin belonged to Jiujiang county.
In the sixth year of emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty (201 BC), Ganxian was established as the city, which was the beginning of Ganzhou. Since then, the calendar for Ganxian county.
In 557, the first year of Chen Yongding in the Southern Dynasty, Ganxian county and Nankang County exchanged names, belonging to Nankang county.
At the beginning of Daye in Sui Dynasty (about 605), Nankang county and Ganxian county changed their names again and again, and they still belonged to Ganxian County until the period of the Republic of China.
Ganzhou was liberated on August 14, 1949. On the next day, Ganzhou City was set up from Ganxian county and Ganzhou City, belonging to Ganzhou district. On November 27 of the same year, Ganzhou district was abolished and directly subordinate to southwest Jiangxi administrative region.
On June 17, 1951, southwest Jiangxi administrative region was abolished and Ganzhou special region was established.
On May 25, 1954, Ganzhou district was abolished and Gannan administrative region was established.
On May 15, 1964, Gannan administrative region was abolished and Ganzhou special region was established.
In January 1971, it was renamed Ganzhou area, belonging to Ganzhou area. It was the site of Ganzhou administrative office.
On June 15, 1999, Ganzhou City at the county level was abolished and Zhanggong District of Ganzhou City was established.

In 1943, the five towns were merged and named Ganzhou town.
On August 15, 1949, Ganzhou town was set up as a city from Ganxian County, and Ganzhou Municipal People's government was established.

On April 5, 1987, Shashi Township and Panlong Township were changed into Shashi Town and Panlong town (No. 165, ganfuting Zi).
On November 23, 1989, two townships of Gehu and Longbu were established (reply No. 149 of ganmin Zi).

On August 5, 1998, Hubian Township, Shuinan Township and Shahe Township were abolished and Hubian Town, Shuinan town and Shahe Town were established (reply No. 126 of ganmin Zi).
On August 5, 1998, nanwai sub district office was divided into Dongwai sub district office and nanwai sub district office.
On December 7, 1998, the water office was cancelled and its jurisdiction was transferred to Jiefang sub District Office (reply no.225 of ganmin Zi).
On December 8, 2000, Shuixi township was abolished and Shuixi town was established. The town government moved to chizhuling (reply No. 369 of ganmin Zi).
On March 2, 2001, Longbu township was abolished and assigned to Shashi Town; Hehu township was abolished and assigned to Hubian town (reply No.97 of ganmin Zi).
On February 25, 2014, the former Tandong town and TANKOU town of Nankang city were under the jurisdiction of Zhanggong District of Ganzhou City.
In 2020, with the approval of Jiangxi Provincial People's government, it is agreed to abolish Shuinan Town, Zhanggong District, Ganzhou City, and establish Shuinan sub district office and Zhangjiang sub district office in Zhanggong District, Ganzhou City.
In May 2020, Zhanggong district has jurisdiction over 7 streets and 8 towns: Jiefang street, Ganjiang street, nanwai street, Dongwai street, huangjinling street, Shuinan street, Zhangjiang street, Shashi Town, Shuidong Town, Hubian Town, Shahe Town, Shuixi Town, Panlong Town, TANKOU town and Tandong town. The district government is located at 16 Zhangjiang road.
Jiefang sub district office has jurisdiction over 14 community neighborhood committees and 261 resident groups in Hongcheng lane, xingannan Road, Xijiao Road, Xijin Road, Daxin Kaidao, Jianguo Road, Bajing Road, Jiefang Road, yaoyaqian, Zhongshan Road, Heping Road, Jiankang Road, Nanjing Road and Shangshu street.
Ganjiang sub district office has jurisdiction over 15 community neighborhood committees and 365 resident groups, including damiaoqian, Renmin lane, Xiaoyi lane, yaofuli, Diaoyutai, Dagao Road, Nanshi street, Houde Road, hebaotang, hongcaitang, Xiaonanmen, Dongjiao Road, Tianzhushan, Mapoling and Ganjiang road.
Nanwai sub district office has jurisdiction over 15 neighborhood committees and red flag administrative villages, including nanwai, Dadou, dongyangshan, sankangmiao, mulanjing, Binjiang, yangpoxiang, Tudi temple, xiahaotang, datangbei, yangmeidu, erkangmiao, xiaoyuanli, honghuanlu, Zhangjiang, 341 resident groups and 12 villager groups.
Dongwai sub district office has jurisdiction over 14 community neighborhood committees and Baiyun administrative villages, 325 resident groups and 15 villager groups in wulonggang, guandaoping, Dongwai, zhangjiawei, Niuling, yingjiaoshang, dukoulu, huangwuping, laijiawei, 801, taoziyuan, Changjiang, niwanli and Jiayuan.
Shuinan street has jurisdiction over five neighborhood committees including Jianshe Road, Changzheng Road, Mianjiang Road, Dengfeng road and Gankang Road, and two village committees including Changtang village and Gaolou village;
Zhangjiang Street governs five neighborhood committees, namely lingtoushang, Shajiao, zhangjiangnan, Ganjiangyuan and Meiguan, and two village committees, namely Nanqiao village and lachang village.
Shashi Town has jurisdiction over 18 administrative villages including Shashi, Nantian, Jibu, staircase, xiafeng, Shuangqiao, Xinxu, Bushang, Dongfeng, Longbu, Longgang, Huoran, Xinjian, Shijiao, Fengshan, Ganlin, Wangtian and xiaru, 3 neighborhood committees under Jitai, Shashi and Tajiao, 257 villager groups and 28 resident groups.
Shuidong town has jurisdiction over 7 administrative villages of Qili, Hongxing, Yanlong, Shuidong, hugang, Mazuyan and Zhengxing, 5 neighborhood committees of Qili, Caiyuanba, Shuidong, xiashawo and Ganlu, 72 villager groups and 39 resident groups.
Hubian town is located in the northwest of Zhanggong District, Southeast of Zhangjiang. It covers an area of 99.8km2 and has a population of 34371. It has jurisdiction over Hubian neighborhood committee and 16 administrative villages including Hubian, Shanghe, Hehu, yaoxia, Yaobei, Yong'an, shanbian, guantian, Gangbian, Yongquan, Hengjiang, Liyuan, Longtou, Sheqian, Yeshan and Longling.
Shahe Town has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages, including longxia, Liukeng, Longcun, Shahe, Hualin, Hetou, Luokeng, Wulong and Huanglong, 4 neighborhood committees, 108 villager groups and 20 resident groups.
Shuixi town has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages, including Shuixi, Chizhu, liansan, luobian, Huangsha, hele, Baitian, Shifu, Shizhu, Lingyuan, yaoxia, Hehu, Yaobei, Yong'an and Shanghe, 4 neighborhood committees, 216 villager groups and 21 resident groups.
Panlong town is managed by the Golden Development Zone, located in the west of Zhanggong District, in hilly areas. Zhangjiang River runs through the central part from west to East. It covers an area of 42.2km2 and has a population of 32548. It has jurisdiction over the neighborhood committee of Panlong street and 14 administrative villages including Taoyuan, shuidui, yangkeng, Chetou, Tianxin, Yangbian, Panlong, Bashang, Luodu, Wuling, Huxing, ZhangFu, dangtang and Heba.

Zhanggong district is located in the northwest of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, between 25 ° 40 ′ 16 ″ - 25 ° 58 ′ 56 ″ N and 114 ° 46 ′ 44 ″ - 115 ° 03 ′ 40 ″ E. Zhanggong district is a hilly area. The terrain from southeast, northwest to central tilt, slightly saddle shaped. It is high in the southeast and northwest, hilly and mountainous, gentle in the middle, and valley plain. The highest point is Fengshan, 1016.4 meters above sea level; the lowest point is Tianbi, 93 meters above sea level, in the west of Baitian village, Shuixi town.
The mountains in Zhanggong district are divided into East, Southeast and northwest parts by Zhanggong and Ganjiang rivers, which belong to Wuyi Mountains, Jiulian mountains and Luoxiao mountains. There are mountains as a barrier in the whole area, and three rivers moisten the land in the middle.
