Zhenba County Zhenba County, a county under the jurisdiction of Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the south of Shaanxi Province, the southeast corner of Hanzhong City, the west part of Daba and the east part of Micang. It is known as the "South Gate" of Shaanxi Province. As the capital of Han General Ban Chao, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army once founded the Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary base and built Shannan County, covering an area of 3437 square kilometers. There are Han, Miao, Hui, Uygur, Zhuang and other ethnic residents in the territory, among which Zhenba County is the largest Miao residential area in Northwest China. The county has the daytime River scenic spot, the unique Miao village in the northwest, the largest Bashan bamboo forest in Asia and other tourist attractions.
In March 2019, it will be listed in the first batch of counties for the protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics. On February 27, 2020, the people's Government of Shaanxi Province approved that Zhenba County officially withdrew from the poverty-stricken county sequence. On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the list of national health towns (counties) to be reconfirmed in 2019.

In the seventh year of Yongyuan (95) of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Emperor he of the Han Dynasty granted ban Chao, a famous general of the Pingding western region, the Marquis of Dingyuan. The county was granted the capital of Dingyuan, which was also named Pingxi region and Bancheng.
In 221, the first year of Zhangwu in Shuhan of the Three Kingdoms, jiannanxiang county was located in the south of Chenggu County. It governs the present Zhenba and Xixiang counties. The county is located in guirenshan, which is the ancient castle of yuduba in Yudu town of Zhenba County. This is the beginning of the construction of Zhenba County.
In the seventh year of Jiaqing (1802) of the Qing Dynasty, 24 places in the south of Xixiang were analyzed, and Dingyuan hall was set up according to the meaning of "Dingyuan Marquis of Han Dynasty". After that, the establishment of county-level administrative region of Zhenba was stable.
In 1913, it was abandoned and renamed Dingyuan County, and in 1916, it was renamed Zhenba County.
In 1932, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army founded the Sichuan Shaanxi revolutionary base. In September of the next year, it built Shannan County in Chinan Township in the south of the county.
In February 1935, the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army left for the Long March, and the name of Southern Shaanxi county disappeared.
Zhenba was peacefully liberated on December 17, 1949, and Zhenba County People's government was established on December 19, 1949.
On February 27, 2020, the people's Government of Shaanxi Province approved that Zhenba County officially withdrew from the poverty-stricken county sequence.

The main ridge of Bashan mountain lies from east to west, forming two geographical units of North and south, and becoming the watershed of Jialing River and Hanjiang River. The geological structure is mainly composed of folds and faults. Karst landform is well developed. There are many karst caves and underground rivers. The surface rocks are mostly sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks. The valley is deep, the mountain is steep, and the relative height difference is large. The highest point, the main peak of Bashan mountain, is 2534 meters above sea level, and the lowest point, the mouth of langchaigou in BAMIAO Town, is 416 meters above sea level, with a vertical height difference of 2118 meters. The terrain is dominated by the middle mountain landform. The area of low mountains below 800 meters above sea level accounts for 8.4%, with an average height of 1231.4 meters.
