Taibai County Taibai County, subordinate to Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, is located in the southeast of Baoji City, Shaanxi Province. It is located in the hinterland of Qinling Mountains. It is named after Taibai Mountain, the main peak of Qinling Mountains. Qinchuan in the north, Bashu in the south, across the Yellow River and the Yangtze River, with a total area of 2780 square kilometers, the county is 1543 meters above sea level, which is the highest County in Shaanxi Province. By the end of 2019, Taibai county has 7 towns and 44 administrative villages with a total population of 52000. The county government is located in zuitou town.
Taibai county has a warm temperate semi-arid continental monsoon climate, which is characterized by the intersection of continental monsoon climate and alpine climate. The annual average temperature is 7.7 ℃, and the summer average temperature is 19 ℃, enjoying the reputation of "summer resort" and "natural air conditioning city". Taibai county is rich in natural resources, there are 57 kinds of wild rare animals and 1700 kinds of rare plants. The vertical natural ecological pedigree of the county is typical and complete, known as "king of animals and plants".

In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Guo county was in the north, Chencang County in the northwest and Wugong County in the northeast.
In the Qin and Western Han Dynasties, Guo county was in the north, Chencang County in the northwest, and Gudao County in the southwest.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms and the two Jin Dynasties, Chencang county was in the north, Fuxian County in the northeast and Gudao County in the southwest.
During the Sixteen Kingdoms period, Yuanchuan county was in the north, Yi County in the East, and Gudao County in the southwest.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, on December 27, 1952, the Ministry of internal affairs of the Central People's Government of the people's Republic of China approved the establishment of Taibai Central District, which was established according to Ding and other counties. On January 27, 1953, the people's Government of Shaanxi ordered the establishment of Taibai District, which is temporarily under the jurisdiction of Baoji district. On February 17, 1953, the people's Government of Taibai district was formally established. The district government is located in zuitou street. In 1955, the district government was changed into the District People's Committee. In December 1958, Taibai district was incorporated into Baoji City and Taibai people's commune was established.
On August 22, 1961, the State Council approved the establishment of Taibai county system. On September 1, the people's Committee of Taibai county was established. It is located in zuitou street, under the jurisdiction of Baoji district. On April 10, 1968, the people's Committee of Taibai county was abolished and the Revolutionary Committee of Taibai county was established.
In December 1971, Baoji district was withdrawn and put under the jurisdiction of Baoji City. On March 1, 1979, after the restoration of Baoji District, it was under the jurisdiction of Baoji district administrative office.
On August 1, 1980, after the merger of Baoji Prefecture and city, it was under the jurisdiction of Baoji City. On December 31, 1980, the county Revolutionary Committee was abolished and the people's Government of the county was established. It is located in zuitou street and is under the jurisdiction of Baoji City.
In 1996, Taibai county had a population of 49000, with jurisdiction over one town and 10 townships: zuitou Town, Jingkou Township, taochuan Township, taibaihe Township, Erlangba Township, huangbaiyuan Township, gaodock Township, Longwo Township, Yingge Township, Wangjialing Township and Baiyun township. The county government is located in zuitou town.
In 1997, gaodock Township and Longwo Township were abolished, and Gaolong township was established by merging the two townships. Taochuan township was changed to taochuan Town, Yingge township to Yingge Town, taibaihe township to taibaihe Town, and Jingkou township to Jingkou town.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Taibai county is 51332, including 22360 in zuitou Town, 5947 in taochuan Town, 7087 in Yingge Town, 3685 in Jingkou Town, 3899 in taibaihe Town, 1521 in Baiyun Township, 2338 in wangjialeng Township, 889 in huangbaiyuan Township, 2311 in Gaolong Township and 1295 in Erlangba township (5 towns, 5 townships and 89 administrative villages). In 2001, Baiyun township was merged into zuitou Town, Erlangba township was merged into huangbaiyuan township.
In 2010, Taibai County governs 5 towns and 3 townships: zuitou Town, taochuan Town, Yingge Town, Jingkou Town, taibaihe Town, Wangjialing Town, huangbaiyuan town and Gaolong town. In 2011, Gaolong township was abolished and merged into Yingge Town, huangbaiyuan township was abolished and huangbaiyuan town was established, Wangjialing township was abolished and Wangjialing town was established. After the adjustment, Taibai county has jurisdiction over seven towns: zuitou Town, Yingge Town, taochuan Town, Jingkou Town, taibaihe Town, Wangjialing town and huangbaiyuan town.

After the establishment of Taibai Central District in February 1953, the whole district was divided into four districts: the first district (Zhongnan District), the second district (Jingkou District), the third district (Erlangba District), and the fourth district (taochuan District).
On June 9, 1953, the people's Government of Shaanxi Province ordered that all of huangniuhe Township in Fengxian County, the fourth administrative village (117 households) in Guanshang Township with dagoukou as the natural boundary, and zaojiaowan village in pingduhe Township, the Fourth District of Yangxian County, be classified as Taibai district. The district governs Zhongnan, Jingkou, Erlangba and taochuan districts, with a total of 18 townships. In June, the division was adjusted, and shuihaochuan village in the fourth township of the first district (Zhongnan) was assigned to the second district (Jingkou); taibaihe Township in the third district (Erlangba) was assigned to the first district (Zhongnan). The district has jurisdiction over 4 districts, 20 townships, 90 administrative villages, 236 natural villages, 5940 households and 25014 people.
The first district (Zhongnan District) governs five townships: zuitou, fangcaiguan, guaili, qilichuan and taibaihe.
The second district (Jingkou District) governs four townships: Guan, huangniuhe, Baiyun and Wangjialing.
The third area (Erlangba area) governs Erlangba, zaojiaowan and huangbaiyuan.
The fourth district (taochuan District) governs eight townships: Lingdan temple, shayangdian, Laoyeling, gaodock, Longwo, Yingge, Liujia village and wayaopo.
In March 1956, the first district (Zhongnan) was abolished, and the townships under the jurisdiction of the original district were changed to be directly under Taibai District, and zuitou Township and fangcaiguan Township were merged to set up zuitou Township, where the Township People's Committee is located; lingdanmiao Township, Laoyeling Township and shayangdian township of the fourth district (taochuan) were merged to set up lingdanmiao Township, where the Township People's Committee is located; Yingge Township, wayaopo Township and Liuyang Township were merged to set up Yingge township was set up by the merger of Jiacun Township and Yingge street was set up by the Township People's Committee.
On July 15, 1957, Erlangba Township and zaojiaowan township of the third district (Erlangba) were merged to form Erlangba Township, where the Township People's Committee was stationed. After the adjustment, Taibai central district is divided into four townships: zuitou, guaili, qilichuan and taibaihe. Jingkou District has jurisdiction over guanshangjie, Wangjialing, Baiyun and huangniuhe townships; Erlangba district has jurisdiction over Erlangba and huangbaiyuan townships; taochuan district has jurisdiction over Yingge, lingdanmiao, Longwo and gaodock townships.
In December 1958, Taibai district was incorporated into Baoji City and Taibai people's commune was established.
On October 27, 1958, the people's Committee of Shaanxi Province returned huangbaiyuan and Erlangba townships in Taibai district to Yang county. In May 1959, huangbaiyuan and Erlangba were transferred to Taibai people's commune. The commune has 11 management areas, including Zhongnan, Yingge, taochuan, Jingkou, Gaotou, Longwo, huangbaiyuan, Erlangba, taibaihe, Wangjialing and Baiyun.
In August 1961, the provincial people's Committee established the Taibai county system according to the zoning adjustment plan. In September, the county people's Committee changed the 11 administrative areas under the jurisdiction of the former Taibai people's commune into 10 people's communes (the zuitou administrative area was merged with the Baiyun administrative area).
In 1962, Zhongnan commune was divided into two communes: Zhongnan commune and Baiyun commune. At the same time, the production brigade and production team were also adjusted.
In September 1966, 11 people's communes and 89 production brigades in Taibai county were changed to symbolize "red regime" and "revolution". From December 1970 to May 1971, the name of the original commune and production brigade was restored one after another.
In December 1971, Baoji district was withdrawn and put under the jurisdiction of Baoji City.
On March 1, 1979, after the restoration of Baoji District, it was under the jurisdiction of Baoji district administrative office.
On August 1, 1980, after the merger of Baoji Prefecture and city, it was under the jurisdiction of Baoji City.
