Xishan District Xishan District belongs to Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, located in the hinterland of the Yangtze River Delta, Southeast of Jiangsu Province, northeast of Wuxi City. It covers an area of 399 square kilometers.

The District People's government is located in Xizhou Middle Road, Dongting street, 11.7 kilometers northeast of Wuxi Municipal government.
Xishan is a subtropical monsoon marine climate, known as the "land of fish and rice" reputation. Top 100 comprehensive strength districts in China in 2017. In 2018, Xishan District was selected as one of China's top 100 high-quality development zones, national top 100 investment potential zones, national top 100 science and technology innovation zones and national top 100 green development zones in 2018. Historical evolution
Xishan has a history of more than 5000 years of human activities. The recorded history can be traced back to the end of Shang Dynasty more than 3000 years ago.
In the 12th century B.C., Taibo, the eldest son of the father of the ancient Duke (the king of Zhou), went to Nanman with his second younger brother Zhongyong in order to give way to Jili, the third younger brother, and settled in Meili (now Meicun town in the New District), known as Gouwu.
In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (202 BC), Wuxi County was established as Kuaiji county. In 1724, Wuxi County was divided into Wuxi and Jingui counties.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was combined into two counties, which was called Wuxi County again. It was originally under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province and directly under Jiangsu Province in 1927.
On April 23, 1949, Wuxi was liberated. The city and its suburbs were divided into Wuxi City, city and county.
In March 1983, Jiangsu province implemented the new system of city Governing County, and Wuxi County belongs to Wuxi City.
On June 8, 1995, with the approval of the State Council, Wuxi County was abolished and Xishan City was established.
In December 2000, with the approval of the State Council, Xishan City was abolished and Xishan District and Huishan District were established.

In 2012, the average rainfall of the three stations in Xishan District was 1048.2 mm, which was close to the annual average rainfall; the rainfall in flood season (May to September) was slightly less, 614 mm (monitoring point of flood control office), 27% less than 833 mm in the same period of last year, and 13% less than 708.7 mm in the same period of previous years. On June 23, the plum blossom came into being, 9 days later than the normal year, on June 29, 12 days earlier than the normal year, and the rainy season was 6 days, 20 days less than the normal year. The rice wheat planting benefit was 1233.6 yuan per mu, including 148.4 yuan of policy subsidies. At the end of the year, the total area of vegetables in the whole society was 1533.3 hectares, with 108000 tons of vegetables on the market in the whole year. The price of live pigs dropped sharply, and the feed price rose all over the line, the benefit of live pig breeding dropped sharply, with an average benefit of 158 yuan per head. At the same time, we accelerated the large-scale and ecological breeding of live pigs.
