Hangu management area, belonging to Tangshan City, Hebei Province, is located in Ninghe District, Tianjin city, along the coast of the Bohai Sea and in the hinterland of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei. With a total area of 150 square kilometers and a population of 48000, it has jurisdiction over Hanfeng town and 18 administrative villages, agricultural corporation (Xingnong Office), 11 production teams, Zhenxing street and 7 communities. The district government is located in Hanfeng town.
Hangu farm, the predecessor of Hangu management area in Hebei Province, was founded in 1951. In March 2003, with the approval of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, it was transferred to Tangshan City by the Provincial Bureau of agricultural reclamation to establish Hangu management area in Tangshan city. In November 2014, it was approved to establish Hangu Economic Development Zone in Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The existing management structure is "three brands, one set of people".
Hangu management area is located between Tangshan and Tianjin, 40 kilometers away from each other, especially the Linjin industrial park with an area of 11 square kilometers, which is surrounded by Tianjin Binhai New Area. It is the only enclave of Hebei Province embedded in Binhai New Area, and the infrastructure is fully integrated with it. Beijing Harbin railway, Tianjin Qinhuangdao high-speed railway, Tangshan Tianjin high-speed railway, Coastal Expressway, binbao Expressway and 112 National Highway are interwoven in the territory; the ports and airports of Tianjin and Tangshan can be reached in one hour outside the District, and Beijing and xiong'an new area can be reached in two hours, which is an important link connecting Beijing Tianjin Tangshan and Northeast China.
With 50000 mu of state-owned land resources, it is suitable for continuous development. It has complete farmland and water conservancy infrastructure resources, especially in the "Three River confluence" of Ji canal, Jin Tang canal and huanxiang River, which is rich in water resources; it has low-cost production factor resources, Hangu is backed by Tangshan, and the surrounding coal, iron, limestone and other mineral resources are rich, and the enterprise procurement cost is low. At the same time, the area is rich in geothermal resources, gas and power supply have two-way sources of Tianjin and Tangshan, enterprises have large choice space and low production cost.
