Historical evolution
Lishu District, in the late Qing Dynasty, was under the jurisdiction of Muling county. After the founding of the Republic of China, it was subordinate to the Second District of Muling County in 1913. In 1924, Muling coal mine was put into production, and Lishu town was set up the next year. After the fall of Northeast China, it was the fourth protection at first, and then Lishu town street was set up. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Lishu town was set up in April 1946 and changed to the Sixth District in 1949. In March 1956, Lishu town was established.
