Licheng County Licheng County, a county under the jurisdiction of Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, is known as lihou state in ancient times and Taihang Mountain revolutionary base area. It is located at the junction of Shanxi, Hebei and Henan provinces. It is the "East Gate" of Shanxi Province and is known as the "thoroughfare of three provinces". In 2012, it covers an area of 1101 square kilometers with a total population of 159600, including 123000 agricultural population and 249000 Mu cultivated land. There are 6 main rivers in the territory, of which Zhuozhang River is the largest, with a total length of 39.6 km. The county government is located in lihou town.
Licheng County, with a long history, is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization. The "jinjiajie ancient cultural site" shows that human beings have been living and reproducing in Licheng since the Neolithic age, with a civilization history of more than 2700 years. The excavation of the Western Zhou tombs in tapo proves that Licheng county is the location of the ancient Marquis state of Li. The former site of Jinan bank in xiaozhaicun, the predecessor of the people's Bank of China, is known as the cradle of new China's financial industry. In 1998, lihou Buhu, a folk handicraft, was selected by China Post as the stamp pattern of the year of the tiger.
In 2012, the GDP of Licheng county was 3080.64 million yuan, an increase of 13.9% over 2011. Among them, the added value of the primary industry is 281.01 million yuan, the added value of the secondary industry is 157.102 million yuan, and the added value of the tertiary industry is 1228.61 million yuan.
Licheng county was awarded the national health county (township) in 2018. In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area sub County list.

In the spring and Autumn period, it was the state of marquis Li.
The Han Dynasty, the Three Kingdoms and the two Jin Dynasties were Lu county.
In the 11th year of Taiping Zhenjun in the Northern Wei Dynasty, Lu county was abandoned and Jialing county was set up. The county metallurgy was set up in Guxian village of Lizhuang Township, which was the beginning of the county construction in Licheng.
In the 18th year of kaihuang (958), it was renamed Licheng county. This was the beginning of Licheng county. From then on, Lucheng and Licheng became counties respectively.
In the early Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Hanzhou first, then Luzhou, and Hedong road. In the first year of Tianyou (905), it was changed to Liting county.
In the late Tang Dynasty, it was restored to Licheng county.
In the early Song Dynasty, it belonged to Ludong road Luzhou. In the third year of Tiansheng (1025), the county was moved to baimayi, which is 4 km southeast of the original county. Xining five years (1072), merged into Lucheng county. In the first year of Yuanyou (1086), Licheng county was restored. Since then, the name of Licheng county has not changed.
In the Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Luzhou, hedongnan road. Zhenyou three years (1215), promoted Shexian Chongzhou, Licheng is. In 1216, Chongzhou became a county again, and Licheng still belonged to Luzhou.

In the middle and early Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Luzhou in Southern Hebei Province. In the eighth year of Jiajing (1529), Luzhou was promoted to Lu'an Prefecture, and Licheng belonged to it.
In Qing Dynasty, it belongs to Lu'an mansion of Jining road.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the government was abolished and the county was unified by the province. Licheng belonged to Jining road.
In 1930, Dao was abolished and Zhili was established by the Shanxi provincial government.
In 1937, Shanxi established a special office under the jurisdiction of the third office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), 54 villages including piancheng and Yuzhuang in the three districts were set up as piancheng county.
On September 1, 1941, the Anti Japanese democratic government of the Shanxi Hebei Shandong Henan border region was established, belonging to the fourth special office of Taihang executive office.
On October 31, 1943, in order to meet the needs of the Anti Japanese struggle, Li Cheng and Li Bei counties were established.
On November 5, 1945, Licheng county was compounded.
In September 1948, the people's Government of North China was established, belonging to the third Taihang special area.
On October 1, 1949, the people's Republic of China was founded, and the organizational system of Shanxi Province was restored. Licheng belongs to Changzhi special area.
In January 1959, Changzhi district was changed into Southeast Shanxi District.
In 1979, it was changed into the administrative department of Southeast Shanxi, and Licheng was still a county.
On April 30, 1985, the State Council abolished the southeast of Shanxi Province and implemented the system of city governing county. Licheng was under the jurisdiction of Changzhi City.

The county is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. The highest is quanyuwading, with an altitude of 2020 meters; the lowest is Qingzhang Valley, Qingquan village, huangyadong Town, with an altitude of 622 meters; the altitude of the county is 750 meters; the average altitude of Licheng county is 800 meters. In Licheng County, 58% of the total area is in mountainous area, 31% in hilly area and 11% in Pingchuan area.

The main rivers in Licheng county are Zhuozhang River and Qingzhang River in Haihe River Basin. They pass through from north to South and from west to East respectively. Taking Hengling as the boundary, the rivers flowing into Zhuozhang River are Pingtou River, Zhongzhuang River, Yuanzhuang River and Xiaodong River. The rivers flowing into Qingzhang River are Longwangmiao River, Danan River, baisijiao River, nanweiquan River, baiguanzhuang River, Yuanquan River and Xianglujiao river.

There are 21 kinds of minerals and 5 kinds of proved reserves, of which the total proved reserves of iron ore is 203 million tons.
