Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County (Zhuang: vanzgyangh) belongs to Hechi City, Guangxi, which is located in the northwest of Guangxi. Huanjiang County is located at the southeast foot of Yunnan Guizhou Plateau in Northwest Guangxi, adjacent to Rongshui and Luocheng counties in the East, Yizhou District of Hechi City in the south, Nandan county in the West and Libo and Congjiang counties in Guizhou in the north.
Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County is 18 kilometers away from Jinchengjiang District, Hechi City, 67 kilometers away from Yizhou District, Liu Sanjie's hometown, 281 kilometers away from Nanning city and 311 kilometers away from Guilin city. After the opening of Guinan high-speed railway under construction, the distance from Huanjiang to Nanning city is only about one hour. After the opening of Helong expressway, the distance from Huanjiang to Guilin city will be greatly shortened and the traffic will be convenient.
Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County is the only Maonan Autonomous County in China. Founded in 1987, the county covers a total area of 4572 square kilometers, governs six towns and six townships, and has a total population of 378200, of which the Maonan population is 60000, accounting for 14.38% of the total population. There are 14 ethnic groups living in the county, including Han, Maonan, Zhuang, Miao, Yao, Mulao, Shui and Dong. It has two national nature reserves: Huanjiang Mulun Karst World Natural Heritage site, Jiuwanshan nature reserve and Wenya Tiankeng group.
Huanjiang's "Xianan beef cattle" and "Wuxiang" (Xiangzhu, xiangniu, Xiangmi, Xiangya, Xianggu) are famous both inside and outside the region. Huanjiang is the hometown of national beef cattle, and there are abundant coal, lead-zinc and other mineral resources. Huanjiang is the third largest forestry county in Guangxi, a national ecological demonstration area and a national greening model county. There are two national nature reserves, Jiuwanshan jiuren and Mulun karst, and the second largest Wenya Tiankeng group in Guangxi. It is an important part of the world natural heritage "karst in southern China". Huanjiang is also the "hometown of orchids in China".
On May 9, 2020, it was approved by the people's Government of Guangxi Autonomous Region to withdraw from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties. On October 16, 2020, it won the title of "2020 national poverty alleviation award Organization Innovation Award".
Historical evolution
In the 33rd year of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty (214 BC), Qin unified Lingnan and set up Guilin County, Nanhai county and Xiang county. Today, most of Huanjiang belongs to Guilin County, and a small part of Northwest belongs to Xiang county.
In the third year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (204 BC), Zhao Tuo, a South China Sea officer, defeated Guilin county and Xiang County, and became King Wu of Nanyue. Now Huanjiang County belongs to Nanyue state. In the sixth year of the Ding reign of the Han Yuan Dynasty (111 BC), Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty destroyed the state of Nanyue, and set up nine counties, such as Yulin County, Cangwu County, Hepu County, Nanhai County, zhuya County, daner County, Jiaozhi County, rinan county and Jiuzhen County. Now Huanjiang County belongs to Dingzhou County of Yulin County (now Yishan county).
The Huanjiang County of the Three Kingdoms (220-280 years) belongs to wuyulin County of the Three Kingdoms. In the Western Jin Dynasty (281-316), Huanjiang County now belongs to Longgang County of Guilin county (now Yishan county); in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420), Tanzhong County of Guilin county (now Liuzhou City).
During the Southern Song and Qi dynasties (420-589), Huanjiang County now belongs to Longding county (now Yishan county), Guilin county. In the Southern Dynasties, Liang and Chen belonged to Longzhou (now Liucheng county).
In Sui Dynasty (589-618), Huanjiang County belongs to Shi'an county.
In the 12th year of Tang Zhenguan (638), Huanzhou was established in Huanjiang County, which is the beginning of the establishment of the administrative region in Huanjiang County. Huanluodong in Zhengping County of Huanzhou is near Lutun (liujiatun), which is the west of Huanjiang ferry. Huanzhou governs eight counties, Zhengping, Fuling, Longyuan, raomian, si'en, Wushi, Geliang and Mengdu. Except Geliang, which is outside today's Yishan county and Hechi City, the other seven counties are in today's Huanjiang County. That is, Zhengping county is in the southwest and Fulong area to the west of the present lower reaches of the great Huanjiang River; Fuling county is in the southwest of the present Shuiyuan township; Longyuan county is in the middle, West and north of the present Shuiyuan township; raomian county is in the west of the present county; si'en county is in the middle and lower reaches of the present great Huanjiang River and the west of the present county; Wushi county is in the west of the present county; Mengdu county is in the whole territory of Da'an, Changmei and Dacai and the people and friends of si'en town Qingtan, cultural area.
In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), Huanzhou was changed into Zhengping county (also known as Zhengping county). It belongs to the governor's office of Yongzhou in Lingnan Road, Tongzheng equal county. It is located in huanluodong, Zhengping County, west of dahuanjiang river. After the analysis of the original Huanzhou northeast Jimi Fushui state. In the first year of Qianyuan Dynasty (758), it was restored to Huanzhou, still governing 8 counties, such as Zhengping, etc., and its administrative office was moved to huanjiangzhou.
In the Five Dynasties and ten states (907-960), around the prefecture, si'en and meng'du counties were governed (the remaining six counties were all abolished, and they were subordinate to each other). First Chu, then Southern Han.
Huanzhou was Jimi state in Song Dynasty (960-1279), Yizhou in Song Dynasty, and Qingyuan Prefecture in the first year of Xianchun (1265). In the early Song Dynasty, Zhenning Prefecture was set up in the West.
In 1075, Huanzhou and Zhenning were abolished. Huanzhou, Zhenning and their subordinate counties were merged into si'en County, which was originally a county of Huanzhou. The administrative center was moved to Daixi (now the cooperative eight dykes of Luoyang Town), which is under the jurisdiction of Daixi, Puyi and Zhenning villages. In the sixth year of Yuanfeng of Song Dynasty (1083), the huanjiangzhou was restored.
In the first year of song Daguan (1107), Daixi village in si'en county was upgraded to Xizhou, and Daixi village was ruled. In the fourth year of song Daguan (1110), Xizhou was abolished. In 1279, si'en County belonged to Qingyuan Road. In the early Yuan Dynasty, Anhua prefecture (Fushui Prefecture of Tang Dynasty) was abolished and its jurisdiction was subordinate to si'en county. In the 29th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1292), the Maonan commander's lawsuit and Anhua chief's lawsuit were set up in Huanjiang County, which was later abolished and belonged to si'en county.
In the first year of Dade (1297), si'en County belonged to the Department of military and civilian Pacification in danxidong, Qingyuan County. In the first year of Hongwu (1368), si'en County belonged to Qingyuan Prefecture. In the second year, it belonged to the military and civilian pacification Department of Qingyuan Nandan. In the third year, it belonged to Qingyuan Prefecture again. Libo County was established in the northwest of si'en County in 1384, which belonged to Qingyuan Prefecture. In 1447, Libo County was changed to Nandan Prefecture. In 1475, Libo County was restored to Qingyuan Prefecture. In the first year of Zhengde (1506), si'en county and Libo County were transferred to Chizhou of Qingyuan Fuhe.
In the early Qing Dynasty, si'en county and Libo County were subordinate to Qingyuan Prefecture. In 1732, Libo County was transferred to Duyun Prefecture of Guizhou Province. In 1905, Anhua hall was set up in 52dong, Zhongzhou, Sanli, etc. in the north of si'en county to govern Minglun in Huanjiang County, which is subordinate to Qingyuan Prefecture. During the period of the Republic of China, si'en county and Yibei county were set up in the county. In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Anhua hall was changed to Anhua County. Si'en and Anhua counties belong to Liujiang road. In 1913, Anhua County was renamed Yibei county. In 16, si'en county and Yibei county were directly under the Guangxi provincial government. In 19 years, it belonged to the Yishan militia area. In April, 21, the two counties were transferred to Liuzhou militia district. In March, the two counties belong to Liuzhou administrative supervision area. In November 25, the two counties were changed into Qingyuan administrative supervision area. April 29, the two counties belong to the seventh administrative supervision district (formerly Qingyuan administrative supervision district). In March 31, the two counties were changed into the second administrative supervision district (governing Liujiang county). In October, 37, the two counties were transformed into the tenth administrative supervision district, governing Yishan county.
Yibei county was liberated on November 20, 1949, and si'en county was liberated on November 24, 1949. Both counties belong to Qingyuan district. From May to August 1951, the Guangxi provincial government reported to the Government Affairs Council and approved the merger of si'en and Yibei counties into Huanjiang County under the jurisdiction of Yishan district. On August 11, the two counties of si'en and Yibei merged into Huanjiang County, and the CPC Huanjiang County Committee and the people's Government of Huanjiang County were established to govern si'en town. In December of the same year, it was transferred to Yishan District of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. In March 1956, it was transferred to Yishan area of Guixi Zhuang Autonomous Prefecture. In July of the same year, it was transferred to Liuzhou District. On January 25, 1958, it was changed to Yishan special zone. In July of the same year, it was transferred to Liuzhou District. On May 18, 1965, it was changed to Hechi district. In 1971, it was changed to Hechi area.
On June 5, 1986, the State Council approved to change the name of "Maonan Nationality" to "Maonan Nationality".
On November 1, 1986, with the approval of the State Council, Huanjiang County was abolished and Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County was established. The former administrative region of Huanjiang County was taken as the administrative region of Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County. On November 24, 1987, on the 38th anniversary of the liberation of Huanjiang, the Maonan Autonomous County of Huanjiang was established, which belongs to Hechi area. On June 18, 2002, the State Council approved (Guo Han No. 52) to abolish Hechi Prefecture and county level Hechi City and establish prefecture level Hechi City in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It belongs to Hechi City.
In 1996, Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County covers an area of 4572 square kilometers and has a population of 326000. It has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 9 townships (including 1 nationality township): si'en Town, Shuiyuan Town, Luoyang Town, Chuanshan Town, Minglun Town, Shangchao Town, Dacai Township, Shangnan Township, Xianan Township, Mulun Township, Da'an Township, Changmei Township, Dongxing Township, Longyan Township and Xunle Miao township. The county government is located in si'en town.
On December 28, 1999, the people's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region agreed to change Dongxing Township into a town system, with the original administrative region unchanged (GZH 220). After the adjustment, the county governs 7 towns and 8 townships (including 1 ethnic township): si'en Town, Shuiyuan Town, Luoyang Town, Chuanshan Town, Minglun Town, Dongxing Town, Shangchao Town, Dacai Township, Shangnan Township, Xianan Township, Mulun Township, Da'an Township, Changmei Township, Longyan Township, and Xunle Miao township.
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Huanjiang Maonan Autonomous County is 332067.
