Yuanshi County Yuanshi County, which belongs to Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, is located in the south central part of Hebei Province. It borders Jingxing County on Taihang Mountain in the west, Zanhuang County in the southwest, Gaoyi County in the south, Zhao county and Luancheng District in the East, and Luquan District in the north. 39 km from east to west and 28 km from north to south.
Yuanshi County governs 8 towns, 7 townships and 208 administrative villages, with a population of about 443000 (in 2017), a total area of 676 square kilometers and a cultivated area of 540000 mu, belonging to a warm temperate semi humid continental climate.
With convenient transportation, Beijing Guangzhou railway and 107 national highway run through the north and south, and the highways connecting with surrounding counties and cities extend in all directions.
In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area sub County list. In 2019, it was listed as the second batch of national agricultural product quality and safety counties.

origin
At the beginning of the Warring States period, Yuanshi County belonged to Zhongshan state. After Zhao state destroyed Zhongshan state, it belonged to Zhao state. The king of Zhao granted yuan the title of Childe here. Yuanshi County got its name from this. It has been more than 2000 years since it was established as a county in the early Western Han Dynasty.
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, the vassal states set up the border area as "county". This area of Yuanshi County was the frontier of Zhao state at that time, and the other side of Hutuo River in the North was the place of Zhongshan state. Prince yuan called his fiefdom Yuanshi County. This is the origin of Yuanshi County.

At the beginning of the Zhou Dynasty, the vassal states were enfeoffed. In the huaishui River Basin, the state of Lu was established, and Feilong town was built at the south foot of Fenglong mountain.
During the Warring States period, it belonged to Lingshou (Pingshan Sanji), the capital of Zhongshan state; during the state of Zhao, yuan, the son of Zhao, was granted here, hence the name of Yuanshi County.
The Qin Dynasty belonged to Julu County.
In the early Western Han Dynasty, it was set up as a county. In the Han Dynasty, Hengshan County was set up, which governed the old city of yuan family. When Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty avoided Emperor Wen (Liu Heng), it was called Changshan County. Emperor Jing of Han Dynasty was called Changshan state.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, the governor of Changshan County moved from the yuan family to Zhending (now the Northeast ancient city of Shijiazhuang).
In the Sui Dynasty, Hengshan County was restored and the government was determined.
In January 1943, the Lunan area of Huolu county was merged into Yuanshi County and renamed yuanhuo county. In August 1949, it was assigned to Shijiazhuang district.
In May 1958, the two counties of Yuanshi Gaoyi were merged into Gaoyuan County, which was renamed Yuanshi County in December of the same year.
In May 1960, Shijiazhuang special district was abolished, and Yuanshi County was changed into Shijiazhuang city. In 1961, Shijiazhuang special district was established, and Yuanshi County was restored.
In March 1962, the three counties (Yuanshi, Gaoyi and Zanhuang) were separated, and Yuanshi County was restored.
