Songxi County Songxi County (formerly belonging to Jianning Prefecture Songxi County) belongs to Nanping City, Fujian Province. It is located at the junction of Fujian and Zhejiang, Southeast of Wuyi Mountain. In ancient times, there were many Qiao pines along both sides of the river. It is known as "Baili pine shade Bichang River", so Songxi County got its name. Songxi County has a subtropical humid monsoon climate, with a total area of 1043 square kilometers. It is 48 km to Qingyuan County in the East, 27 km to Zhenghe County in the southeast, 107 km to Jianyang County in the West and 75 km to Pucheng County in the north. Songxi County was named "the hometown of Chinese folk print art" by the Ministry of culture in May 2000. On July 22, 2016, Songxi County passed the national ecological county assessment and acceptance by the Ministry of environmental protection, becoming the first national ecological county in Northern Fujian.
On January 9, 2019, Songxi print was selected into the list of "hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" from 2018 to 2020. In March 2019, it was listed as the first batch of revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area sub County list. Historical evolution
In the third year of Wu Yong'an in the Three Kingdoms (260), Dongping county was established, belonging to Jian'an county.
In 468, Dongping county was abolished and renamed Dongping township. From the northern and Southern Dynasties to the Sui and Tang Dynasties, it belonged to Jian'an county.
In the first year of Liang Kaiping in the Five Dynasties (907), Dongping Township belonged to Longquan County, Chuzhou, Wuyue state.
In the fifth year of Tianfu (940) of Jin Dynasty, Wang Yanzheng, the governor of an army in Wang Jian'an Town, Fusha County, Fujian Province, seized most of Dongping township of Wuyue state and established Songyuan town in the sixth year of Tianfu.
In the second year of Jin Kaiyun in the Five Dynasties (945), Fujian was destroyed in the Southern Tang Dynasty, and Songyuan town belonged to Yong'an army of the Southern Tang Dynasty.
In 951, the first year of Zhou Guangshun in the Five Dynasties, that is, the ninth year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty, the Southern Tang regime promoted Songyuan town to Songyuan county. The county government established the seat of the old county and township government, which belongs to the loyal army of the Southern Tang Dynasty.
