Historical evolution
The spring and Autumn period is the Jin Dynasty.
The Warring States period belonged to Zhao, and the Han, Wei, Jin and Northern Dynasties were the western border of Jinyang.
In the 16th year of kaihuang of Sui Dynasty (596), Jiaocheng County was set up in the west of Jinyang, and the county was governed by Gujiao town.
In 691, Jiaocheng County moved to dalingzhuang (now Jiaocheng County) to build a post road. In the second year of Xiantian (713), the northern border of Jiaocheng County was located in the area of modern and ancient times, and Luchuan county was set up. The county government was located in Luyukou. In the second year of Kaiyuan (714), Luchuan county was withdrawn and merged into Jiaocheng County. Since then, until the early years of the Republic of China, there was no county-level construction in Gujiao.
In November 1937, the Japanese army occupied Taiyuan and Jiaocheng County successively. With the development of the Anti Japanese War and the founding of the Shanxi Suiyuan revolutionary base area led by the Communist Party of China, great changes have taken place in the construction of Gujiao.

At the same time, Yangqu county government of Shanxi Province was stationed in Hekou area and Jiaocheng County government was stationed in tunlanchuan area.
From the 29th to 34th year of the Republic of China (1940-1945), when the Anti Japanese war was won in August, the eighth divisional Commissioner Office of Shanxi Suiyuan border region (formerly the eighth divisional Commissioner Office of the second guerrilla area of Shanxi Province, renamed the eighth divisional Commissioner Office of Northwest Shanxi in August 1941, which was named above in November 1943) swam first, and then settled in Guantou village of tunlanchuan. Jiaocheng Anti Japanese democratic government is stationed in lanchuan and Pingchuan, and Yangqu Anti Japanese democratic government is stationed in shizihe.
In the winter of 1946, Yan Jun occupied Gujiao Town, Hekou and other places, and built Gujiao Administrative Region (county level), which was destroyed by the army and people in the base area.
From 1946 to July 1948, Yangqu county government was stationed in Hekou, Caoping and dananping.
After the founding of new China, in August 1958, Jialequan, GESHANG, SuoYu, Caoping, xinglinping, dananping and Hekou in Yangqu county and Henan and Gujiao in Jiaocheng County were divided into nine townships. Hekou industrial and mining area and Hekou Town, Taiyuan City, were initially established.
