Historical evolution
The origin of the name
Helingeer is Mongolian, which means 20 houses. It got its name because there were 20 families in the new post station in the early Qing Dynasty.
Evolution of organizational system
Helingeer County has a long history. It belongs to Yunzhong County in Qin Dynasty, Dingxiang County in Western Han Dynasty, and Shengle County in Northern Wei Dynasty.
In the early Tang Dynasty, in 663 (the third year of longshuo), he moved to Monan (chenglecheng of Han Dynasty), and changed his name to Yunzhong Dufu. In the second year, he changed his name to Shanyu Dufu or Shanyu Dadu Dufu. After the middle Tang Dynasty, the system of Jiedushi appeared. In 745 (the fourth year of Tianbao), Wang Zhongsi Ren Zhenwu Jiedushi moved Zhenwu army to Shanyu Dadu Dufu, and Zhenwu Jiedushi was in charge of it Chanyu Dadu's mansion. Since the establishment of Shanyu Dadu Prefecture, it has become an important political and military center in central Inner Mongolia.
In the Liao Dynasty, Zhenwu county was set up here as a subordinate County of Fengzhou. In Jin Dynasty, Zhenwu city had fewer local residents and was renamed Zhenwu town.
It was called Zhenwu city in Yuan Dynasty. We can see that there were not many residents left at that time. In order to make use of the arable land in the south of Zhenwu city and along the Hun River, the Yuan Dynasty set up the Hongcheng garrison in the north of Hun River (now the xiaohongcheng in Helingeer County). The army and the people worked together to cultivate in this area, and the grain produced was transported to the north of Yinshan Mountain for relief.
Wei Suo was set up here in the Ming Dynasty, belonging to the Department of Xingdu in Shanxi Province. In the 26th year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang issued a decree to transfer Chengzi and Zhu long, king of Zhou.
In the early years of the Qing Dynasty, a small number of residents lived in the city, but they moved out after the end of the Qing Dynasty. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, 20 families were set up in Chengguan town. Because there were 20 families at that time, they were called 20 families. In the sixth year of Yongzheng reign, the office of general judge of Helingeer was set up.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), the Department was changed to Helingeer County Department, and in the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), the County Department was changed to the county government.
On October 1, 1949, the democratic government of Helingeer County warmly celebrated the founding of the people's Republic of China in Zhongba village, heilaoyao district. In December of the same year, the democratic government moved back to the county.
On February 5, 1950, the former Kuomintang county government was abolished and the people's Government of Helingeer County was formally established. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Helingeer County was first subordinate to suinan special office and saxian special office, and then subordinate to Pingdiquan administrative region and Ulanqab League administrative office.
In 1995, with the approval of the State Council, Wulanchabu League was put under the jurisdiction of Hohhot city.
