Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone was founded in 1992, and was approved as provincial Yangzhou Economic Development Zone by Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in October 1993. In October 2006, Yangzhou export processing zone officially passed the joint acceptance of nine national ministries and commissions. On July 24, 2009, the general office of the State Council officially replied to the people's Government of Jiangsu Province, approving Yangzhou Economic Development Zone to be upgraded to a national economic and Technological Development Zone, implementing the current policy of national economic and Technological Development Zone. At present, the development zone covers an area of about 133 square kilometers and has a permanent resident population of about 200000. It has three townships of Shiqiao, Bali and Puxi, and two sub district offices of Wenhui and yangzijin.
Historical evolution
In October 1993, it was approved as provincial Yangzhou Economic Development Zone by Jiangsu Provincial People's government.
On January 14, 2002, the people's Government of Yangzhou City issued the notice on defining the administrative areas of the city's development zone and Guangling District, suburbs and Hanjiang District (yangfufa No.7): according to the spirit of the provincial government's reply on agreeing to adjust some administrative divisions of Yangzhou city's urban area (suzhengfu No.221), Yangzhou City defined the administrative areas of Yangzhou Economic Development Zone and Guangling District, suburbs and Hanjiang District Management area. Shiqiao Town and Bali Town of Hanjiang District will be entrusted to Yangzhou Economic Development Zone. The scope of agency management of Yangzhou Economic Development Zone is as follows: North to Wenhui East and West Road; East to XueDa South Road; South to the ancient canal; East to Henggou River to Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal; South to Jiajiang River to Yangtze River; West to Xincheng River; South to Jiangyang middle road; West to yanggua highway; South to nanraocheng highway; East to nanraocheng highway to Hanjiang Road; South to Yixing road Yanghe River enters the Yangtze River along the regional boundary between Guazhou town and Bali Town, and the Yangtze River and Zhenjiang River in the south. Its escrow area is 72.06 square kilometers, with a population of 99500.
In 2002, Bali and Shiqiao towns were included in the Development Zone, and Wenhui and yangzijin streets were established. The administrative area of the development zone is 72 square kilometers, with a total population of 155700.
By the end of 2004, Bali Town had an area of 24 square kilometers / 22394 people, and Shiqiao Town had 23.06 square kilometers / 38312 people.
In June 2008, Puxi town of Yizheng City (south of Yanjiang high-grade highway excluding Yanjiang village and Tuqiao Village) was put under the management of Yangzhou Economic Development Zone. The adjusted development zone covers an area of 122.92 square kilometers and has a population of 136300. The development zone is in charge of yangzijin street, Wenhui street, Shiqiao Town, Bali Town and Puxi town. At the end of 2009, there were 29.4 square kilometers per 38112 people in Shiqiao Town, 23.26 square kilometers per 23243 people in Bali Town and 40.86 square kilometers per 32208 people in Puxi town

Location traffic
Highway: Beijing Shanghai Expressway (Beijing Shanghai), Nanjing Nantong Expressway (Nanjing Nantong) and Yangzhou Liyang Expressway (Yangzhou Liyang) run through Yangzhou, forming a highly developed expressway network. Yangzhou is the only city with ring expressway in Jiangsu Province. It only takes ten minutes to get on the expressway from any part of the development zone.
