Historical evolution
In 206 BC, the Qin Dynasty died and the Han Dynasty prospered. Zhao Tuo, a former Nanhai prefect, took the opportunity to establish Nanyue state in Lingnan. He also accepted the title of Han Dynasty.
In the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC), Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty destroyed the state of Nanyue and set up nine counties within its territory. One of the counties is Cangwu County, which has 10 counties, one of which is Duanxi county. Today, Yunan County is the part of Duanxi county at that time.
During the Taikang period of the Western Jin Dynasty (280-289), duluo county and Wucheng county were added to Duanxi county.
In 351, Jinkang county was separated from Cangwu county. Duanxi county and today's Yunan and Deqing counties are all under the jurisdiction of the county.
At the end of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Jinhua County was set up in Jinkang county (the county government is now Nanjiangkou town in Yunan).
In the Southern Song Dynasty (424-453), the two counties of duluo and Wucheng merged and changed their name to the capital county (the name of the capital city comes from it). Then ansui county was separated from Duanxi county (the county government was Liantan town in the south of Yuyu). In the Southern Qi Dynasty (479-502), Weicheng county was separated from Duanxi county. In the fourth year of Liang Dynasty (523), Luoyang county was set up in the ancient Luoshui (that is, wenchangshui) basin, and now part of Yunan County is included in this county.
In the early Sui Dynasty, Luoyang county was changed into Luoyang county. In 589, the capital county was changed to Cangwu county because of the abolition of Jinkang county. In 592, Jinhua and Weicheng counties were merged into the capital county. In 598, Luoyang county was renamed Zhengyi county. In 607, Zhengyi county was merged into Longshui County of Yongxi county. Ansui county also transferred to Yongxi county.
The system of prefectures and counties was carried out in the Tang Dynasty. The capital county was transferred to Kangzhou, while ansui county was transferred from Yongxi county to Kangzhou, and was renamed Jinkang county.
In the fifth year of Kaibao of Song Dynasty (972), the capital and Jinkang counties were merged into Duanxi County, belonging to Deqing mansion, Guangnan East Road.
The Yuan Dynasty followed the song system. It's just that Deqing mansion was renamed Deqing road. Today, Yunan County is still under the jurisdiction of Deqing road.
In the Ming Dynasty, Deqing road was renamed as Deqing Prefecture. Soon after, Deqing Prefecture was reduced to Deqing Prefecture and subordinate to Zhaoqing Prefecture. In the fourth year of Wanli (1576), the Ming government set up Luoding Zhili Prefecture in this area, and Zhili was the chief minister of Guangdong. In addition to taking Longshui County as the governor, Zhili Prefecture also governed the newly established Dong'an County (now Yunfu county) and Xining county (now Yunnan county). The following year, Xining county built a town in today's Yunan and began to build a city as a county government. This is the origin of the name of building a city.
The Qing Dynasty followed the system of Ming Dynasty, only in 1757, part of Xining county was divided back to Xinyi county.
The third year of the Republic of China (1914). Because Xining county has the same name as Xining County in Qinghai Province and is located on the South Bank of the ancient Yujiang River (now Xijiang River), it is renamed as Yunan County.
In the spring of 1950, Yunan County government moved to Ducheng town.
In November 1958, Yunan County and Luoding county were merged and named Luonan County.
In April 1961, Luonan County was abolished and the organizational system of Yunan County and Luoding county was restored. Yunan County is under the jurisdiction of Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province.
