Chengduo County, which belongs to Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, is located in the middle of Qinghai Province. It borders qumalai County in the north and West, Shiqu County in Sichuan Province in the southeast, and Yushu County across the Tianhe River in the southwest. It is 160 kilometers wide from east to west and 209 kilometers long from north to south, with an average altitude of 4500 meters. In 1917, it was the director of Yushu and later under the jurisdiction of Yushu county. In 1937, Yushu county was divided into several counties.
In 1951, Chengduo county government was established, which is subordinate to Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. In March 1951, Chengduo county held the first meeting of representatives from all walks of life of all ethnic groups and established the people's government. In 1952, with the approval of Yushu special office, Chengduo county established the first Xiaoge government at the district level, which was called lavenshaoge government. It was stationed in rasitong and had jurisdiction over duozu, Wenbao, Labu, kana, etc. The next year it was renamed dogeshorge.
In July 1953, Zaduo Xiaoge (Zhujie temple, xiuma, Bairi Duoma, ani, Yongxia) Duoduo Xiaoge (Zhuo Mao, Gucha, next year Cuo, last year CuO) was added.
When Zhiduo county was established in 1954, the wrong nationality was assigned to the county last year, and the remaining three Xiaoge, duogai, Duoduo and zhadoo, were under the jurisdiction of Zhiduo County, with a total of 101 nationalities.
On November 23, 1954, zhenqinxiaoge was added, which is located in Zhujie temple and governs Bairi Duoma and Ani nationalities.

In October 1959, Tianhe county was established. Most of the original zhadoo and Duoduo Xiaoge areas were under the jurisdiction of Tianhe county.
In July 1962, after Tianhe county was abolished, zhadoo and Duoduo communities were put under Chengduo county.
At the end of 1999, it covers an area of 13827 square kilometers and has a population of 39106 (according to Qinghai provincial Chronicles), with jurisdiction over eight townships. The county government is stationed in Zhouyun (in Chengwen township) (the provincial chronicle is Zhoujun).
According to the fifth census in 2000, the total population of Chengduo county is 40391, including 6284 in zhadoo Township, 6232 in Qingshuihe Township, 7503 in Zhenqin Township, 5021 in gaduo Township, 1022 in saihe Township, 4321 in Xiewu Township, 2979 in Labu Township, 3388 in Chengwen Township, and 3641 in Zhoujun township.
On October 15, 2001, Qinghai provincial government issued the reply of Qingzheng Letter No. 99: abolishing saihe and Chengwen townships and merging them into Chengwen town (the town government is located in the original Wenxiang site); abolishing Xiewu Township and establishing Xiewu town; abolishing zhaduo Township and establishing zhaduo town; abolishing Qingshuihe Township and establishing lishuihe town. After the adjustment, Chengduo county has jurisdiction over four towns and three townships: Chengwen Town, Xiewu Town, Zaduo Town, Qingshuihe Town, Labu Town, gaduo town and Zhenqin town.

It has 11 Village (animal husbandry) committees, including Shangzhuang, Xiazhuang, Xuewu, songdang, Bailong, Gangcha, Lagong, saihe, adduo, Zhebei and mangcha. Xiewu town is located in Xiewu and has seven animal husbandry committees including Xiewu, dangba, zhimenda, shangsaiba, xiasaiba, azhorongba and animal husbandry village. Qingshuihe town is located in Qingshuihe, which has jurisdiction over 7 animal husbandry committees of Zama, Zaha, pusang, Zhongka, gaqing, wencuo and Hongqi. Zhadoo Town, located in Xiahe, has six animal husbandry committees, namely Zhiduo, Zhimei, Hongqi, Gexin, Dongfanghong and Xiangyang. Labu township is located in lasitong, which has jurisdiction over seven animal husbandry committees: Wuhai, lasitong, Guowu, Landa, Dawa, Deda and Bangbu. Gaduo township is located in Kalong and has eight animal husbandry committees, namely, Kalong, Kaji, Kema, Buyou, Jixin, Gangyou, zhuomuqi and wuyunda. Zhenqin township is located in Zhujie temple, which has jurisdiction over 11 animal husbandry committees including 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11.

In the northwest corner of Chengduo County, lalangqingqu is composed of 16 tributaries, such as Jialong River, rehe'e River, Nazarene River and nazalongcha river. It is an important tributary of karizqu.
Tongtian River System:
Dequ is the boundary river between Chengduo county and qumalai county. It originates from jialongzha River and enters Tongtian River near kalonggu mountain. As a section of the boundary between Chengduo county and qumalai County, Dequ has a total length of 90.9 km and 22 tributaries.
The upper reaches of Zhiqu River are mainly located in Yushu prefecture, above Yibin. It is called Zhiqu in Tibetan, muluw River in Mongolian, Tongtian River in Chinese, and the boundary river between Xijiao of Chengduo county and Yushu county.
