Xinshao County Xinshao county belongs to Shaoyang City, Hunan Province. It is located in the north of Shaoyang City and the middle of Hunan Province, between Shaoyang basin and Xinlian basin, with high terrain in the South and low terrain in the north. Historical evolution
During the spring and Autumn period and the Warring States period, it belonged to the state of Chu.
In the 24th year of the reign of the king of Qin (223 BC), Chu was destroyed. Chu county was set up at the beginning, followed by Changsha County.
In the fifth year of emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (202 BC), Changsha was established and led to 13 counties, which are Zhaoling county and Yiyang County. In the first five years of Hanping emperor, Zhaoling county was divided into Zhaoling County, Zhaoyang Hou state and Yiyang County.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, it belonged to Zhaoling County, Zhaoyang county and Yiyang County.
The Three Kingdoms belonged to Shu at the beginning and Wu later. In 226, the first year of Wu SUN Hao's Baoding reign, Gaoping County was set up. The county is divided into Zhaoling, Zhaoyang and Gaoping counties.
Emperor Wu of Jin Dynasty changed Zhao to Shao by taboo his father Zhao. In the first year of Taikang (280), he changed Gaoping to nangaoping and later called it Gaoping. The county is divided into Shaoling County, Shaoyang County and Gaoping County.
In the Southern Dynasties, Shaoling and Gaoping counties were merged into Shaoyang County.
During the Daye period of emperor Yang of Sui Dynasty (605-617), Xiao Mian occupied Shaoyang. Jianzhou was established and Shaoling county was restored. The county belongs to Shaoyang County and Shaoling county respectively.
In the fourth year of Wude (621), Emperor Gaozu of the Tang Dynasty changed the state into nanliangzhou. In the seventh year, Shaoling was incorporated into Shaoyang. In the tenth year of Zhenguan (636), Emperor Taizong changed nanliangzhou into Shaozhou, leading Shaoyang and Wugang counties. The Taibu of the county belongs to Shaoyang County, with a small part of Meishan cave.
In the period of Tianfu (936-941) of emperor Gaozu in the later Jin Dynasty, Ma Xifan, the king of Wen Zhao of Chu, changed Shaoyang County into Minzheng county. In the 12th year of Tianfu (947) of emperor Gaozu in the later Han Dynasty, Ma Xiguang, the deposed king of Chu, was called Shaoyang County again. Most of the county was Shaoyang County, and Meishan cave was in the northwest.
In 1072, Cai Yu, vice envoy of Hunan Province, reopened Meishan. The Taiyang, Yongning and Shima of Meishan were located in Xinhua County.

In 1913, Baoqing Prefecture was abolished and Baoqing county was set up. Baoqing county belongs to Baoqing county and Xinhua County. In 1927, Baoqing county was renamed Shaoyang County, belonging to Shaoyang County and Xinhua County respectively.
On October 13, 1949, the people's Government of Shaoyang County was established; on October 21, 1949, the people's Government of Xinhua County was established. Then, the people's governments of Shaoyang County and Xinhua County were established one after another.
On November 19, 1951, Hunan Provincial People's Government approved the establishment of Xinshao Office of Shaoyang County People's government, which exercised the functions and powers of the county government.
On March 12, 1952, the people's Government of Hunan Province, on February 24 from the Central South military and political Commission, transmitted a telegram to the Central Government Council on February 16, approving the establishment of Xinshao county. The strata in Xinshao county are mainly Sinian, Cambrian, Ordovician, Silurian, Devonian, Carboniferous, Permian, Triassic and Cretaceous. The Sinian system is mainly exposed in Longshan, Daishan, Dazhangshan and banzishan. The Cambrian system is mainly distributed around the Sinian system and in the xiaoheli area of baiyuanpu yijialing and Pingshang. Ordovician is scattered in Xiayuan, Zhongyuan, fengshukeng and houlichong. The Silurian system is exposed at the edge of the central mountain. Devonian system is distributed at the foot of Longshan mountain, xintianpu, longxipu, longkouxi, Xiaoxi, Pingshang, Zhangjiachong, Yantang, Gaoqiao, yijialing, caojiaba, chenjiafang, Fuxi and other places. The Carboniferous system is widely distributed in the hilly area in the south of the county. The Permian is mainly distributed in quetangpu and Chenjiaqiao. Triassic is distributed in dahuatang and other places. The Cretaceous system is distributed in the southern part of the county and the area from Niangxi to simenqian. In other tertiary and quaternary systems, only a few fragments are found and slightly developed.
The main magmatic rocks in Xinshao county are Caledonian, Indosinian and Yanshanian granites. CALEDONIAN GRANITE occurs in Yingguang area of the county, with a small area. Indosinian and Yanshanian granites are mainly found in Xiayuan and Yingguang areas.
There are folds and faults in Xinshao county. The folds mainly include: Longshan dome to the north of chenjiafang and the east of sunjiaqiao, gold antimony mineralization is common along the core of the dome; Daxingshan longkouxi anticline; Pingshang baomaling semi anticline; tianxinping KULI syncline; changchongpu Douling syncline; Shizilu Tiekeng syncline.
