Zhangpu County, Zhangpu County, is a coastal county in the south of Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It was established in the second year of Tang Dynasty (686). It has been known as "jinzhangpu" since Ming Dynasty. Zhangpu County is a famous hometown of overseas Chinese and the ancestral home of Taiwan compatriots. There are 12000 people going to Taiwan and 26000 people belonging to Taiwan in the county. Among the more than 23 million Taiwanese, more than 2 million are from Zhangpu.
There are Nanxi, Luxi, Fotan, Chihu, duxun and Wujiang rivers in Zhangpu County, with an annual precipitation of 1600 mm and an average annual temperature of 21.8 ℃. The coastline is 216 kilometers, 178 islands and reefs, 6 bays and 5 harbors. Zhangzhao expressway, 324 National Road, Xiamen Shenzhen railway, Zhangzhou coastal passage transit, water transport has Xiazhai and Jiuzhen wharf. Shenhai expressway has three interchanges in Zhangpu.
Zhangpu County is a millennium old county, a national cultural advanced county, a county with a large population, a large agricultural county, a large ocean County, a large resource county, and a new port industrial county. Gulei petrochemical industry base (100 billion industrial cluster) is an investment intensive area for Taiwan businessmen. After the reform and opening up, it has become an important part of the first batch of coastal counties open to the outside world, modern agricultural demonstration zone and national cross-strait (Fujian) agricultural cooperation experimental zone.
In February 2017, Zhangpu County was selected as the key city of PPP innovation in the field of national major municipal engineering. On July 29, 2020, it will be included in the National Health township (county) naming list of 2017-2019 cycle.
Historical evolution
Before the late Warring States period, Xia, Shang and Western Zhou belonged to Fujian and later to Fujian and Vietnam. In 222 BC (the 25th year of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty, or the 33rd year of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty), it was included in the territory of the Qin Dynasty and belonged to Minzhong county. In the early Han Dynasty, Liangshan was the boundary of Minyue state in the north and Nanhai state in the south. In 85 BC (the second year of Shiyuan), it belonged to Yexian County, Kuaiji Prefecture. From the Jin Dynasty to the southern and Northern Dynasties, it belonged to Longxi County of Nan'an County in the north. During the period of Chen Dynasty in the Southern Dynasty, minzhou was set up in today's Fujian, and later renamed as Fengzhou.
In 589, it was renamed Quanzhou. In 607, Quanzhou was abolished and changed into Jian'an county. It led Fujian, Jian'an, Nan'an and Longxi counties and was stationed in Fujian county. The county was governed in today's Fuzhou. At this time, there was only one county and four counties in Fujian. Today, Zhangzhou belongs to Longxi County, Jian'an county. Soon Longxi County was abolished and merged into Nan'an County, and soon Nan'an county was also abolished.
In 686, Zhangzhou was set up with Zhangpu and Huaien counties; in 716, the State Department moved from the southern foot of Pantuoling to Li aochuan (now Suian Town, Zhangpu County). After 29 years of Kaiyuan, Longxi County and Longyan county were designated, and Huaien county was incorporated into Zhangpu County; in 786, the state government moved to Guilin village, Longxi County (now Zhangzhou City). Zhangzhou was changed into Zhangpu County from 742 to 759.
In 886 (the second year of Tang Guangqi), Wang Chao's three brothers entered Fujian with Wang Xu's peasant army and captured Quanzhou. Chen Yan appointed Wang Chao as the governor of Quanzhou. In 947, the Southern Tang Dynasty annexed the state of Fujian, and Zhangzhou was ruled by Wang Chao and the state of Fujian, which lasted for 61 years.
In 963, Qingyuan Army (under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou, Putian and Zhangzhou) was renamed Ping Navy, Chen Hongjin was the Jiedushi, and Zhangzhou belonged to Ping Navy. In 978 (the third year of Taiping's rejuvenation of the country in the Northern Song Dynasty), Chen Hongjin took over the territory of the Song Dynasty, and Zhangzhou was brought into the territory of the Song Dynasty with the Pinghai Navy. The Song Dynasty belonged to Fujian road. The Yuan Dynasty belonged to Zhangzhou road.
The Ming Dynasty belongs to Zhangzhou Prefecture, Fujian Province. In the Qing Dynasty, Zhangzhou government was set up as tingzhanglong road.
In the early Republic of China, it belonged to Xilu Road (tingzhang Road).
Liberated on September 25, 1949, it belongs to Longxi district (region) and Zhangzhou city.
In October 1949, the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh districts were established in Chengguan, Shiliu, guanxun, Jiuzhen, Futan, Chihu and duxun respectively.
In 1950, the Baojia system was abolished, and the county was divided into 99 townships. At the same time, the eighth district was added in Wujiang.
In 1951, the ninth district was added in Shentu and the Tenth District was added in Huxi.
In 1952, District 11 was added to Changqiao and District 12 to Shaxi respectively. So far, there are 12 districts in the county, with jurisdiction over 6 towns and 135 townships.
Since then, the name and jurisdiction of the township have been changed repeatedly.
In September 1955, the eleventh district (Changqiao District) and the twelfth district (Shaxi District) were abolished, and the five townships of Gantang, gehou, Chaling, Qingcha and xinei, which were originally part of the eleventh District, were put under the jurisdiction of the first district (Chengguan District). Hawksbill and Dongshan townships are under the jurisdiction of the second district (pomegranate District). Xiban, Xixi, Tanyuan, Changqiao and Xiping are under the jurisdiction of the third district (guanxun District). At the same time, Beiqi, Gaolin, Gaoshan, Yutou, Heyuan, Shaxi, Tulou, xukan, Pengshan, Xiazhai, Baiyi, which originally belonged to the 12th district, were put under the jurisdiction of the 7th District (duxun District).
In December 1955, the six townships of Daizai, Xingzai, Longkou, youao, Xiache and Gangkou in Gulei District of Dongshan County, with a total of 28 villages under the jurisdiction of Zhangpu. At the same time, the whole county is divided into 11 districts again. The names of each district are named according to the location of the district office, namely, Chengguan, pomegranate, guanxun, Jiuzhen, Futan, Chihu, duxun, Wujiang, Shentu, Huxi and Gulei, which have jurisdiction over 6 towns and 170 townships.
In October 1956, Wujiang district and Huxi district were abolished, and Chengguan District was changed into Chengguan Town (a town directly under the county government). There are eight districts in the county, including pomegranate, guanxun, Jiuzhen, Futan, Chihu, Shentu, duxun and Gulei, under the jurisdiction of five township level towns and 92 townships.
In March 1957, the three townships of Nanpu, Mayuan and Zhongxi in Chengxi District of Nanjing County were put under the jurisdiction of Zhangpu County (changed to pomegranate District). In August of the same year, the three townships of Dongpu, Shanmei and shanbian under the jurisdiction of guanxun District of Zhangpu County were under the jurisdiction of Haicheng county. In December of the same year, the government office of guanxun district was relocated to Changqiao District, which was renamed Changqiao District, and Chaling Township in the former pomegranate district was put under the jurisdiction of Changqiao district. At the same time, the county's administrative divisions were further adjusted, with 102 townships and 5 township level towns under the jurisdiction of the district.
In March 1958, the organizational system of districts and towns was abolished, and the whole county was merged into 53 townships (towns).
In September 1958, the township system was abolished, and 10 people's communes and 3 agricultural and forestry farms were established in the county. The people's commune integrates the grass-roots political power organizations and economic organizations. There is a management area under the commune and a production brigade under the management area. The county is divided into 50 administrative areas and 256 brigades.
In May 1960, Wujiang people's commune was abolished and merged into the old town people's commune. There were only nine people's communes in the county.

In September 1964, the original 26 communes of the county were merged into 17 people's communes, with 5 farms, 2 forest farms, 2 salt farms and 1 tea farm.
In March 1978, ten brigades, Shangdong, pantuo, Gepu, hekeng, Donglin, Chanshan, Cangli, guanpi, Tongkeng and quankeng, were set up from pomegranate people's commune.
In September 1980, five agricultural production brigades (Suidong, Suixi, suinan, Suibei, and Nanmen) and one resident brigade were set up from Chengguan people's commune, and Chengguan Town (changed to Suian town in March 1982) was established as a town directly under the county.
In September 1984, the government and society were separated. The original people's commune was changed into township (town), and the original production brigade was changed into administrative village. There are three towns in Suian, Fotan and Jiuzhen, and 16 townships in Chengguan, Shiliu, pantuo, Changqiao, Nanpu, Chitu, duxun, Shaxi, Gulei, Xiamei, Shentu, liuao, Chihu, qianting, Chiling and Huxi (among them, Chiling and Huxi are she townships).
In May 1985, guanxun township was established in nine villages of northwest, Xiban, Jinjiang, Kangzhuang, Chunjian, zhaocuo, Shenglu, Hongxia and Xialu, which were designated as guanxun from Changqiao township.
In June 1987, baizhuhu overseas Chinese farm was divided into baizhuhu farm and Nanshan overseas Chinese tea and fruit farm.
In August 1987, six villages, Mawei, Houkang, Xiandu, Wen'an, Jingye and LindaI, were designated from Fotan Town, and Maping township was rebuilt.
In May 1988, the system of Chengguan Township was abolished and the administrative division of Chengguan Township was merged into Suian town. At the same time, duxun Township and Chihu Township were changed into duxun town and Chihu town respectively.
In 1989, the county was divided into 5 towns, 15 townships, 11 agriculture, forestry, tea and salt farms, 293 administrative villages (including neighborhood committees), 50 operation areas and 19 work areas. The names of township farms are as follows: sui'an Town, Jiu Town, duxun Town, Futan Town, Chihu Town, Chitu Township, Gulei Township, Shaxi Township, Xiamei Township, liuao Township, Shentu Township, Maping Township, qianting Township, Nanpu Township, guanxun Township, Changqiao Township, Shiliu Township, pantuo Township, Huxi she Township, Chiling she Township, dananban farm, Wan'an farm, shigu farm, Changqiao farm and Baizhu farm They are Nanhu farm, Nanshan overseas Chinese tea and fruit farm, Zhongxi forest farm, Xiacai forest farm, daimaoshan tea farm, Zhuyu salt farm and duxun salt farm.
In 1990, Zhangpu County had jurisdiction over 7 towns (sui'an, Fotan, Chihu, Jiuzhen, duxun, Xiamei, guanxun), 13 townships (Shiliu, Changqiao, Nanpu, qianting, Shentu, liuao, Chitu, Shaxi, Gulei, pantuo, Maping, Huxi and Chiling), 7 neighborhood committees and 279 villages.
