Lintan County Lintan county is subordinate to Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, formerly known as Taozhou. It is located in the south of Gansu Province and the east of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. It is located in the northeast edge of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau and is the junction of agricultural and pastoral areas, Tibetan and Han areas. Historical evolution
As early as the Neolithic period, there were ancestors living and reproducing here. For thousands of years, it has been the gateway of the Han Tibetan convergence, the transition of agriculture and animal husbandry in Longyou. It is known by historians as the North covering Hehuang, the West controlling Fanrong, and the East assisting Longyou. It is the hub of the ancient road of Tang Dynasty. It is also known as the "gateway to Tibet" in history. It is a famous "tea horse market" that began in Song Dynasty, flourished in Ming Dynasty, and ended in Qing Dynasty .
The Western Han Dynasty moved the victims to Taozhou, which brought the advanced production technology, culture and art of the Central Plains.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, Tuguhun occupied Taoyang city and built temples. It can be seen from the relics unearthed from the ruins of ancient zhanniutou city and ancient villages that Tuguhun occupied important places such as ancient war and old city and believed in Buddhism. It was also the first temple in Lintan, and the Buddhist culture spread in Taozhou from then on.
In 1379 A.D., general Mu Ying led his army to the West and built a castle in the new town, which has been preserved completely so far. It was called Taozhou Acropolis in ancient times.
Lintan county was established in Tang Dynasty. It is said that the county is near Shuitan, so it is named.
