Historical evolution
According to the research on the cultural relics unearthed by Zichang, the ancestors lived and multiplied in the territory as far as 6000 years ago, and the primitive settlements gradually appeared.
In the early Western Zhou Dynasty, it belonged to Zhai.
In the spring and Autumn period and Warring States period, it was under the jurisdiction of Jin, Wei and Qin.
After the unification of the six states, the system of prefectures and counties was implemented in the whole country. Shangjun was set up in Yulin, and Yangzhou county was set up near caojiadi, Shijiawan Township, JINZI county.
During the Chu Han war, Xiang Yu enfeoffed the princes in February of the first year of Gaozu (206 BC) in Xi (now east of Lintong county). He granted Dong Yi the title of King Zhai and changed Shangjun to Zhai. The territory was the land of Zhai. In July, Dong Yi came to the Han Dynasty, and Yang Zhou was the county of Shangjun in the Western Han Dynasty.
In the new mang period, Wang Mang changed Yangzhou county to shanglingzhi, still attached to Shangjun.
In the early Eastern Han Dynasty, when shanglingzhi was abolished, Fushi county was set up (near Suide today), and Zichang was the place of Fushi county. In the 18th year of Jianwu (42nd year), the prefectural governor was dismissed and the prefectural governor's Department was set up again.
During the Three Kingdoms period, the territory was occupied by qianghu, but no county was set up. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the territory was successively occupied by the former Qin, the latter Zhao and the latter Qin.
In the third year of Yixi (407) of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Helian flourished in the north of sheyanshui (today's Wuding River) and the south of Heishui, built Tongwancheng (today's baichengzi in Jingbian) to build the Xia state, which was the territory of the Xia state.
During the northern and Southern Dynasties, the territory was under the jurisdiction of the Northern Wei, Western Wei and Northern Zhou. In the first year of Shiguang in the Northern Wei Dynasty (424), the territory was under the jurisdiction of xiazhou. In the middle of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Weiping County, Shuofang County, was set up at the junction of Zichang and Yanchuan. In the first year of Shengui (518), Chengzhong county was set up in the northeast of Jinxian county (located in the territory of jinzizhou), belonging to Chengzhong county and Weiping county. In the Northern Zhou Dynasty, the territory was Yanzhou City and Weiping county.
In 581, the first year of emperor kaihuang of the Sui Dynasty, Chengzhong county was renamed Chengping County after avoiding the name of Yang Zhong, the father of emperor Wendi Yang Jian. Its governing place was moved to the East for 30 Li (in today's Qingjian County). The county still belongs to Chengping and Weiping counties, and is subordinate to Yanzhou. In the third year of Daye (607), Yanzhou was abolished and Yan'an county was set up. The territory was under the jurisdiction of Yan'an county. In August of the 13th year of Daye (617), Yan'an and Diaoyin counties came down to Tang Dynasty.
In 618, the first year of Wude in Tang Dynasty, dabenzhou county was divided into 15 Daos in the world, and Yanchuan County was located in Yanzhou, guanneidao. In the first year of Tianbao (742), the Prefecture was changed to county, and the territory was Yanchuan County. During the period of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms, the territory was successively under the jurisdiction of Houliang and houtang, and was subordinate to Yanzhou.
In the early Northern Song Dynasty, Lu was set up to govern Yanzhou, which was still Yanchuan County. During the reign of Dao, the territory was occupied by the two summers. In the first year of Kangding (1040), Anding village was promoted to anding fort. In the first year of Qingli (1041), dantou Village (in dantou village, shijiapan township) was established. Yuan Fu first year (1098) in the northwest of andingbao home Qiang village. In the first year of Chongning (1102), tianjiangshan parallel city was built in the northwest of andingbao, and Zhirong city was renamed in the eighth year of Zhenghe (1118). In the second year of Mongolian Xianzong (1252), andingbao was promoted to anding County, under the jurisdiction of Yan'an Road. In the first year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty (1264), dantou county was established, and in the fourth year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty (1267), dantou county was removed and merged into anding county.
In 1369, Yan'an road was changed to Yan'an Prefecture, and Zichang was under the jurisdiction of Suide Prefecture.
In Qing Dynasty, the administrative system of province, Dao, Fu and county was carried out. The son chief was Yan'an County of yan'yusui road in Shaanxi Province.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), the province was divided into two levels: the county level and the Dao level.
In 1933, the Taoist system was abolished, and the county belonged to the province. In August 1934, the CPC special committee of Northern Shaanxi established the Revolutionary Committee of Anding County, the first county-level political power in Northern Shaanxi. In October, it was renamed as the temporary Soviet government of Chiyuan county. In December, it was renamed as the Soviet government of Chiyuan County, the first county-level Soviet government in Northern Shaanxi, coexisting with Nanjing government and anding county government of Shaanxi Province.
In February of 1935, the Soviet government of Xiuyan County was established. At the end of January of the same year, Northern Shaanxi Province was established in baimiaocha (now Ansai County). In April of the same year, the northwest Working Committee planned to build Chongyuan County in the northwest of Anding county and the north of Ansai County. In May, Zichang County was established in this area (abolished in October 1937). Chiyuan, Xiuyan and Zichang counties belong to northern Shaanxi Province. In September of the same year, Chiyuan, Xiuyan and Zichang were subordinate to Shaanxi, Gansu and Shanxi provinces. In October, Wayaobao city (county-level building) was established, which is also under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi, Gansu and Shanxi Province. In November, organs of the CPC Central Committee settled in Wayaobao, which became the red capital of the Chinese revolution. After the establishment of the Northwest Office, Chiyuan, Xiuyan, Zichang and Wayaobao were under the jurisdiction of Northern Shaanxi Province.
In September 1937, Anding County in the border region was juxtaposed with anding County in Shaanxi Province. Anding County in the border region was directly under the government of Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia border region.
In the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940), the anding county government of Shaanxi Province withdrew, and the territory was under the jurisdiction of Anding County in the border region.
On May 1, 1942, with the approval of the Shaanxi Gansu Ningxia border region government, Anding county was changed into Zichang County, which is still in use today.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the people's Government of Shaanxi Province issued an order on May 2, 1950. Zichang County was under the jurisdiction of Suide district.
On October 5, 1956, Zichang County was under the jurisdiction of Yan'an special administration.
In November 1958, Ansai County was abolished, and the former Northern Area of Ansai County was divided into Zichang County.
In June 1961, he returned to Ansai.
In July 2019, with the approval of the State Council, it is agreed that Zichang County will be abolished and Zichang city at county level will be established in Shaanxi Province. Zichang city is located in the eastern end of Hengshan Mountains in the hilly and gully region of the Loess Plateau in Northern Shaanxi. The main ridge is the watershed between Xiuyan River and Jianyucha River, the North Ridge is the watershed between Dali River and Huaining River (the river section in the territory is called Jianyucha River), and the South Ridge is the watershed between the upper reaches of Yanhe River and Xiuyan river. These mountains are undulating ridges formed by thick accumulation of loess.
