1、 Alluvial plain
Alluvial plain, accounting for most of the area of Wuhe County, distributed in the north of Huaihe River, west of Tianjing lake, is the southeast corner of Huaibei plain. The ground elevation is generally between 16 and 19 meters. The general trend inclines from west to East. The surface is covered by Quaternary loose strata. It is composed of ancient river sediments and modern flood sediments of Huaihe River and its tributaries. Along the Huaihe River in the south, there is a natural dike formed by the recent flooding and accumulation of the Huaihe River. The width of the slope varies from 500 m to 2000 m, and the relative difference of the slope is 2 m to 3 m.
2、 Shallow depression
Scattered in Wuhe County along the Huaihe levee outside and Huaihe River Estuary, long strip and irregular shape. It is a back River depression formed by river flood reconstruction and artificial dike isolation, or a depression formed by river surface expansion and widening and siltation in estuary area. Generally, the area is not large, and the ground elevation is 14-15m. As a result of artificial reclamation, most of the depressions are cultivated land, and some of the depressions have ponding and tufted reeds.
3、 Floodplain
The floodplain is mainly distributed in the area along the Huaihe River in Wuhe County, with a width of 300-2000 meters, which varies with the bend of the river. Most of the surface sediments are sandy loam. In Xiaoxi and Zhuding townships, floodplain is relatively developed near the Huaihe River. The ground elevation is 14-15m. In Maotan flood discharge area, it gradually developed into flood plain.
4、 Denudation Hill
The eroded hills in Wuhe County are distributed to the east of Tianjing Lake in the northeast and to the south of Huaihe River in the southeast. To the east of Tianjing lake, the basement rock is Sinian siliceous limestone, which is covered with 5-10m thick slope and eluvium with a ground elevation of 20-30m. The hills to the south of Huaihe River are mainly composed of Early Proterozoic metamorphic rock series, some of which are covered by tertiary (about 50 million years ago) glutenite and exposed by granite. The Quaternary loose cover is thin and less. The ground elevation is generally 20-60m, and the highest can be more than 90m.

However, the transition of climate and the variability of resources often bring drought and flood, continuous rain, low temperature, frost and other climate disasters.

Since the completion of the internal and external water diversion project in 1954, many tributaries in Wuhe County have been transformed into Huaihe River and Xiaotong river. Huaihe River and beifei River belong to Huaihe River system, while Feihe River, Tuohe River, Shiliang River and Feitong River belong to Feitong river system.
1、 Huaihe River System
Huaihe River: it flows into Wuhe County from Shaojia road below Bengbu. It flows out of the county to the east of Dongzhai, with a length of 83.2 km. It is the main river running across the county from east to west.
Beifei River: it is bounded between Wo River and Fei River and originates from Sifang Lake in Shangqiu County, Henan Province. Through Bo County, Woyang, Mengcheng, Huaiyuan, Bengbu to the county mohekou North feizha into the Huaihe River, a total length of 225 km. The drainage area is 3702 square kilometers.
2、 Qiongtong river system
Huihe River: as the main tributary of Huitong river system, it originates from Shangqiu slope water area of Henan Province.
