Fenghua District, belonging to Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the east coast of Zhejiang Province and the south of Ningbo City. It is adjacent to Xiangshan Port in the East and faces Xiangshan County across the port. It connects Ninghai County in the south, Xinchang County, Shengzhou City and Yuyao City in the west, and Haishu District and Yinzhou District in the north. Historical evolution
The origin of place names
There are three versions of the name of Fenghua. It is said that the county of Mingzhou in the Tang Dynasty was quite Fenghua County, hence the name of the county; it is said that the people were willing to flatter the natives; it comes from Fenghua mountain in the east of the county.
History of construction
As early as 5000 or 6000 years ago, Fenghua established the post Mingshan culture. Around 4200 years ago, with Baidu as the center, it established the famous Viola kingdom in the Central Plains, which was the regional political, economic and cultural center of Ningbo for a considerable period of time.
During the Warring States period, it belonged to the state of Chu.
In the 25th year of the reign of the king of Qin (222 BC), it belonged to Yin County of Kuaiji County, and baiduli (now Baidu village of Fenghua) was set up as the county government.
In the first year of Wang Mang's founding, Yin was changed into Jin.
In the early years of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was changed to Yin.
Sui kaihuang nine years (589 years) and Yuyao, Yin, Chen three counties into the chapter, rule Creek, Fenghua is the chapter county.
In the fourth year of Wude of Tang Dynasty (621), there were two states, yin and Yao. Fenghua belongs to Yinzhou, which governs Sanjiangkou (now Haishu District of Ningbo). In the eighth year of Wude (625) of the Tang Dynasty, Yinzhou was abandoned as a county, where Xiaoxi was ruled and Yuezhou was subordinate. In the 26th year of Kaiyuan (738), Qi huanzou, an interview envoy of Jiangnan East Road, asked the imperial court to analyze the area of Fuxian County in Yuezhou and set up four counties, namely Fuxian, Cixi, Fenghua and wengshan, and to juxtapose Mingzhou. Fenghua belongs to Mingzhou, which is Shangxian county. It governs Jinping street in today's urban area.
In Song Dynasty, Fenghua became Wangxian county.
In the first year of Yuanzhen (1295), it was promoted to Zhou.
Ming Hongwu two years (1369) to restore the county, belongs to the Mingzhou Prefecture. In 1381, Mingzhou Prefecture was renamed Ningbo Prefecture.
In the Qing Dynasty, Fenghua belonged to Ningbo Prefecture.
In 1913, it was the fourth place in Zhejiang Province. The third year of the Republic of China (1914) was Kuaiji Dao. In 1927, the road was abandoned, directly under Zhejiang Province. In 1928, it belonged to Yin county. In 1936, it was the sixth administrative supervision district of Zhejiang Province. In 1948, it was the second administrative supervision district of Zhejiang Province.
Fenghua was liberated on May 23, 1949.
In 1970, the special zone was renamed district.
In 1983, Ningbo area was abolished and Fenghua was changed to Ningbo City.
On October 13, 1988, Fenghua was set up as a city instead of a county.
Since June 26, 2001, Fenghua City has adjusted the administrative divisions of towns and townships. The original 19 towns and townships have been re divided into 2 streets and 9 towns.
In 2004, Fenghua City merged the original 580 administrative villages into 360.
In 2016, the State Council (Guo Han [2016] No. 158) approved to abolish Fenghua City at the county level and establish Fenghua District of Ningbo City, taking the administrative region of Fenghua City at the county level as the administrative region of Fenghua district.

In December 2003, Jiangkou Town, Xiwu town and xiaowangmiao town were abolished and Jiangkou street, Xiwu street and xiaowangmiao street were established.
In January 2008, zhongganjia village of xiaowangmiao street was under the jurisdiction of Xikou Town, and Tongzhao village of Xiwu street was under the jurisdiction of Yuelin street.
In April 2018, one neighborhood committee and 24 village committees of xijiangkou Street set up Fangqiao street.
In June 2019, Shouhu town and heshangtian town will be abolished. In July, Chunhu street and Shangtian street were set up.

It belongs to Ningfeng plain and is an important planting area for rice and cash crops. Along the Xiangshan Port, there is a small strip of low flat land. Shanjiang River, Xianjiang River and Dongjiang River all originate from the southwest mountainous area, flow down the mountain and return to the northeast, and flow into Fenghua river at Fangqiao Town, which is swallowed by the tide. There are more than 10 streams in the southeast of Xiangshan Port.
