Yongren County Yongren County is a county under the jurisdiction of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province. It is a mountainous county with the largest number of Yi people in Chuxiong Prefecture. It is located in the north of central Yunnan and the fortress of Yunnan and Sichuan. It is the north gate of Sichuan and Yunnan Economic Development in Yunnan. Yongren County, with a total area of 2189 square kilometers, governs 4 townships and 3 towns. At the end of 2012, Yongren County had 110800 permanent residents, with a birth rate of 11.43 ‰, a mortality rate of 7.23 ‰, and a natural growth rate of 4.20 ‰.
On April 30, 2019, the people's Government of Yunnan Province decided to withdraw Yongren County from the sequence of poverty-stricken counties. In September 2020, it was awarded the title of "model collective of national unity and progress in Yunnan Province".
Historical evolution
Yongren was called Juque in ancient times. Pre Qin Dynasty belongs to ancient Dian state.
In the sixth year of Yuanding, Emperor Wu of the Western Han Dynasty (111 BC), it belonged to Dragonfly County of Yueyi county.
The Eastern Han Dynasty belongs to Dragonfly County, Yueyi County, Yizhou.
Shuhan of the Three Kingdoms belongs to Dragonfly County, Yunnan county, Yizhou.
The Western Jin Dynasty belongs to Yunnan county of ningzhou.
From the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Southern Dynasties, Liang belonged to Dragonfly County, Xingning County, ningzhou.
The Northern Zhou Dynasty belonged to Nanning.
In the Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Nanning Prefecture.
In the early Tang Dynasty, qianglo county was set up. In the fourth year of Wude (621), it belonged to Weizhou, with Shenli (now Yongren) and Shibu (now Renhe). During the Nanzhao kingdom of Tang Dynasty, it was called nongdong Jiedu Jiapi hall.
Song Dali belongs to nongdong Prefecture.
In the seventh year of Yuan Xianzong (1257), Baozhou was abolished and Dayao fort was set up, which belonged to ten thousand households in Dali; in the eleventh year of Yuan Dynasty (1274), Dayao County was set up, which belonged to Yaozhou; in the first year of Yuan Tianli (1328), Yao'an Road Junmin government was set up.
In 1382, Yao'an's mansion was set up in Hongwu of Ming Dynasty, which belongs to Yunnan's chief political department. In 1394, Yao'an's military and civilian mansion was set up, which governs Yaozhou (now Yao'an) and Dayao County.
In the early Qing Dynasty, Yao'an military and civilian government was established in Dayao County along the Ming Dynasty; in July 1730, Yao'an military and civilian government was located in yixidao (Dali government). In February 1770, Yao'an Junmin mansion was abolished and Dayao County was changed to Chuxiong mansion in yixidao. In the third year of Daoguang (1823), Juque was set up in the north of Dayao County, and was divided into two groups.
In 1913, yixidao was renamed dianxidao, and Juque inspection department was changed to Juque executive member, who was stationed in Juque, belonging to dianxidao.
In 1914, Dianxi road was changed to Tengyue Road, and Juque Administrative Region belonged to Tengyue road.
In 1924, Juque administrative region was changed into Yongren County (approved in November 1929), belonging to Tengyue road. Yongding and Renhe are the two major market towns in Yongren County. There is also the meaning of "always implement benevolence and justice".
In 1929, Yongren County was established from Dayao County. Take the meaning of "always implement benevolence and justice".
On December 12, 2005, the people's Government of Yunnan Province approved the cancellation of Wanma Dai Township in Yongren County, and put four village committees under the jurisdiction of Yizi, Xibing, Lagu and Yuyao under the jurisdiction of Yongxing Dai township; put two village committees under the jurisdiction of Zhonghe Township, and changed Zhonghe Township into Zhonghe town after the adjustment of administrative divisions.

Yongren County, located in the north of Yunnan Province, is located in the center of Yunnan and Sichuan, and connected with the mountains and rivers of Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. It has been the "road between Yunnan and Sichuan" since ancient times. National Highway 108 and Chengdu Kunming Railway run through the two places, crossing between 101 ° 14 ′~ 101 ° 49 ′ E and 25 ° 51 ′~ 26 ° 30 ′ n. Yongren County is an inland plateau area, located in the northern edge of the Red Plateau in Central Yunnan, with the characteristics of "V" shape and "mountain" shape structure. The terrain is high in the northwest, low in the southeast, and open in the middle, with an average altitude of 1530-1700m. Yongding town is 1536 meters above sea level. The highest point in Yongding town is the main peak of Daxueshan mountain, 2884.6 meters above sea level. The lowest point is the Jinsha River under shikanzi of Yongding town, 925 meters above sea level.

Yongren County is rich in water resources, including 2 medium-sized reservoirs, 11 small reservoirs, 106 small reservoirs and 424 small dams. The total storage capacity is 80.18 million cubic meters, and the annual surface runoff is 487 million cubic meters, with 5429 cubic meters per capita, higher than the level of the whole Prefecture and the whole country. The main rivers are Wanma River, Yongding River, Jiangdi River, Baima River, Yongxing River and YangTi river. The water energy content is 102000 kilowatts, and 28400 kilowatts can be developed and utilized. Up to now, the development volume is only 13.4%.

Baimahe forest farm is the largest mother forest base of Pinus yunnanensis in China. There are 552 kinds of Chinese herbal medicine, wild oil crops, wild starch plants, wild fiber plants and olive. In 1992, Caoshan with an area of 1 million mu was listed as a commercial cattle and sheep base county in Yunnan Province.
