Chenghua District, under the jurisdiction of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is one of the central districts of Chengdu City, located in the northeast of the downtown area of Chengdu. Located in the east of Chengdu Plain, the terrain is flat; it belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate, warm and humid all the year round, with four distinct seasons. The total area of the region is 110.6 square kilometers, and the permanent population of the region is 960200 by the end of 2019.
Chenghua District historically belonged to the former Chengdu county and Huayang County, and also to Jinniu District and Dongcheng District of Chengdu City. In 1928, the city of Chengdu was officially established. At that time, the Chengdu municipal government merged the urban areas of Chengdu and Huayang counties into Chengdu City. Chengdu and Huayang counties only governed rural areas. In October 1990, Chengdu Chenghua District was established by analyzing the former Dongcheng District, part of Jinniu District and a small part of Xicheng District. Because it is located in the area of ancient Chengdu county and Huayang County, it is named after the first word of the two county names.
Historical evolution
Chenghua area is the earliest place of ancient Shu. It has a history of more than 2300 years since the Qin Dynasty destroyed Shu and established Chengdu County in the ninth year of gengyuan (316 BC) of King Huiwen of Qin Dynasty. Its subordinate relationship and administrative division change frequently.
In September 1990, the people's Government of Sichuan Province reported to the State Council for approval, and agreed to restructure some areas of the former Dongcheng District and Jinniu District of Chengdu into Hua District.

On May 27, 2004, the system of shengdeng Township, Baohe Township, Qinglong Township and Longtan Township was abolished, and the sub district office management system was implemented in their administrative areas.
In 2004, Chenghua District governed 14 streets (shuangqiaozi, mengzhuiwan, tiaodenghe, Jianshe Road, Fuqing Road, erxianqiao, Baohe, Longtan, Qinglong, Xinhong Road, shengdeng, wannianchang, Taoxi Road, shuangshuinian), 83 community committees and 19 village committees.
On December 31, 2014, Chengdu Municipal People's government officially approved the establishment of bailianchi street in Chenghua District, adjusted the management scope of Qinglong Street, abolished Xinhong road street and merged it into shuangqiaozi street.
On December 25, 2019, Chengdu Municipal People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some streets in Chenghua District (CFH [2019] No. 122): 1. To cancel shengdeng street and put it under the jurisdiction of erxianqiao street; 2. To cancel Taoxi road street and Jianshe Road Street and put the administrative areas of Taoyuan community, Taoxi community, Yifu community and Wende community under the jurisdiction of Fuqing road Street jurisdiction; the original Taoxi road street Tashui community and the original Jianshe Road Street Peihua Road community, Jianshe Middle Road community and Electronic Science and Technology University community belong to the jurisdiction of mengzhuiwan street; the original Jianshe Road Street Jianxing Road community belongs to the jurisdiction of tiaodenghe street.
