Junan County Junan County, under the jurisdiction of Linyi City, Shandong Province, is located at the junction of Shandong and Jiangsu provinces in the southeast of Shandong Province, with a total area of 1752 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 16 towns, 266 administrative villages (communities) and a population of 1.08 million.
Junan county was divided into Langya County in the Qin and Sui dynasties, daomizhou County in Henan Province in the Tang Dynasty, Qingzhou Prefecture in the Ming Dynasty and Yizhou Prefecture in the Qing Dynasty. In January 1941, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Junan county was established, which got its name from the analysis of the establishment of a county in the south of Junan county. The terrain in the territory is high in the East and low in the west, with low mountains and hills in the East and plain in the west, with an average altitude of 200 meters. The highest point in the territory is Mt. Magu in the north, with an altitude of 662.2 meters. Junan is a typical warm temperate monsoon semi humid continental climate with four distinct seasons and pleasant climate.
According to the unified accounting and feedback of Linyi Bureau of statistics, the preliminary accounting data of the county's GDP in 2019 is 28.763 billion yuan, which is 3.8% higher than that of the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 4.662 billion yuan, an increase of 0.3%; the added value of the secondary industry was 12.753 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 11.348 billion yuan, an increase of 4.8%; and the tertiary industrial structure was 16.2:44.3:39.5.
Local fiscal revenue reached 1.48 billion yuan, up 10.4% year on year. On February 2, 2019, it was rated as the county-level advanced unit of Chinese medicine by the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine. In November 2020, it will be selected into the list of the first batch of model counties (cities and districts) of deepening the reform of small reservoir management system by the Ministry of water resources.

In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Junan belonged to Xiang state.
In the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the state of Xiang was destroyed by the state of Ju.
In the Qin Dynasty, with the state of Ju, it was divided into Ju county, Langya county.
In the Western Han Dynasty, it belonged to Gaoxiang County, and Gaoxiang County belonged to Langya County of Xuzhou governor department.
In the Eastern Han Dynasty, the county was changed into a state, belonging to Ju county, Langya state of Xuzhou.
In the Cao Wei Dynasty, the central and eastern parts of Junan belonged to Juxian County, Chengyang County, Qingzhou, and the narrow and long sections on both sides of Shuhe River in the West (i.e. Wangjiagou Township, shilianzi Township, Daokou Township, Liujiazhuang Township, Guanfang Township, xianggou Township and banquan town) belonged to Kaiyang (now Linyi City) of Langya state, Xuzhou.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, most of Junan belonged to Ju county, Dongguan County, Xuzhou, and the west part of Shuhe belonged to Kaiyang County, Langya state, Xuzhou. In the Sixteen States of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Junan belonged to houzhao, Qianyan, qianqin, Houyan, Dongjin and Nanyan in chronological order. They all belonged to Dongguan County, and the county was replaced by the county. When Nanyan was the only county, Junan belonged to Ju county of Dongguan county.
Junan belonged to Ju county, Dongguan County, Xuzhou in the Liu Song Dynasty. After the Ming Emperor (465-471) lost Huaibei, Junan belonged to Ju county, Dongguan County, southern Qingzhou. In Gaoqi period, Junan belonged to Huairen County, Yitang County, southern Qingzhou. In the Zhou Dynasty, Yuwen belonged to Huairen County, Yitang County, Juzhou.
Sui Dynasty belongs to Yizhou (Langya county) Ju county.
In Tang Dynasty, it belonged to Juxian County, daomizhou, Henan Province.
Five Dynasties, along the Tang system, still belongs to the Henan Province Road Mizhou Ju county.
In the Northern Song Dynasty, it belonged to Ju county, Mizhou, East Jingdong road.
In Jin Dynasty, it belonged to Juzhou County, Shandong east road.
In the Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Juxian County, Juzhou, Yidu Road, xuanweisi, Dongxi Road, Shandong Province.
Junan Prefecture in Ming Dynasty was mainly under the jurisdiction of Qingzhou Prefecture, Shandong Province. Juzhou is divided into 5 townships, 2 towns and 13 shops. Shizilu town in 2 towns belongs to the current district of Junan, zhuchendian (Dadian), yanbindian and gaobudian (Pingshang) in 13 shops belong to the current district of Junan, and Shuyin Township and Yanbin Township in 5 townships belong to the current district of Junan. In addition, banquan, xianggou, Liujiazhuang, Guanfang and other townships (towns) in the current division of Junan, and the southern part of Lingquan Township, the western part of Shizilu town and the western part of Zhubian Township belong to Yizhou, Yanzhou Prefecture, Shandong Province.
In the Qing Dynasty, Junan belonged to the Yizhou Prefecture of Shandong Province. At the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the five villages in Juzhou were divided into 20 brands, among which, all the three brands of yunyunxian, quanzi and Zhufang, and part of the three brands of Liugou, xianglou and zhuche, belong to the current division of Junan. In addition, banquan Town, Guanfang Township, Liujiazhuang Township, xianggou Township and the south of Lingquan Township, the west of Shizilu town and the west of Zhubian township are Linshu township of Lanshan County, Yizhou Prefecture. In 1911, Linshu township of Lanshan county was divided into three districts: Dongpan, Nanhe village and banquanya. Junan County, which originally belonged to Linshu township of Lanshan County, is now under the jurisdiction of banquanya township of Lanshan county.
During the period of the Republic of China, Junan, along with Juxian County and Linyi County, successively belonged to Dainan Road, Jining Road, Langya road and Shandong provincial government.
In March 1940, Juxian Anti Japanese democratic government was established. Most of Junan is under Juxian Anti Japanese democratic government, and the southwest is still the Fifth District of Linyi County. In May, Junan administrative office of Juxian Anti Japanese democratic government was set up to perform the functions and powers of Juxian Anti Japanese democratic government in Junan. In September of the same year, Junan administrative office was abolished and Junan inspection and guidance office was established.
On January 1, 1941, the Anti Japanese democratic government of Junan county was established, which was subordinate to the joint offices of counties in Binhai District. In August, it was attached to the coastal district commissioner's office.
In June 1943, it belonged to the third line of Binhai District Office.
In April 1945, it belonged to the third Special Administrative Office of Binhai District.

In 1929, Ju county was divided into 10 districts. In 1931, there were 332 townships under the district. All of the nine and ten districts in the ten districts and some of the seven and eight districts belong to the current division of Junan county. In January 1942, the original district and township establishment was abolished and administrative villages were established. There are 18 districts and 2 towns in the county. In September of the same year, tingshui district and Xukou district to the west of Shuhe River belonged to julinbian office. Pozi district and laopo District of Juzhong County belonged to Junan county. At this time, the division of Junan county was adjusted into 12 districts: Luzhen District, laopo District, Doushan District, Dadian District, Goutou District, Yanbin District, Bianshan District, Zhubian District, zhuanggang District, tuanlin District, Xueqing district and Zhifang district.
In May 1943, Xueqing and Zhifang were divided into Rizhao county.
In February 1945, more than 80 villages in zhuanggang and tuanlin districts were assigned to Lushan County. In September of the same year, Lushan, Julin and SHUSHUI counties were abolished. Tuanlin, zhuanggang, tingshui, Xukou, banquan, Xinjian and Xingyun, which originally belonged to the three counties, belonged to Junan county. The Xueqing and Zhifang districts of Rizhao County belong to Junan county. At that time, Junan county had jurisdiction over 17 districts and 2 towns, including Lu Town, Dadian, Goutou, Zhubian, Xukou, tingshui, Bianshan, laopo, Zhifang, Xueqing, Yanbin, Doushan, Xinjian, Xingyun, banquan, tuanlin and zhuanggang. The two towns were Shizilu town and Dadian town.
In July 1947, the county was divided into 10 districts and 60 townships.
In March 1949, the 60 townships in the county were divided into 164 small townships (including Lu Town, Pingshang Town, Dadian town and banquan town).
On November 30, 1950, the 10 districts of the county were changed into one to ten districts, namely, Luzhen, laopo, Dadian, tingshui, Lingquan, banquan, Zhubian, Sangzhuang, Pingshang and zhuanggang.
In February 1952, the northern part of the ninth district was added as the eleventh District, the northern part of the second district was added as the twelfth District, and the southeastern part of the Sixth District and the western part of the seventh district were added as the thirteenth district. There were 13 districts, leading townships and 163 townships in the county.
On September 30, 1955, the name of the district was changed to the name of the resident of the district government. The only District, the Fourth District, the eighth District, the twelfth district and the thirteenth district were called Luzhen District, tingshui District, Sangzhuang District, Xueqing district and Sanyi district respectively. Shizilu town was designated as a town directly under the central government. At this time, there were 13 districts and one town directly under the central government in the county.
In March 1956, Linshu county was abolished, and its four divisions of Qingyun, Xiazhuang, Jiaolong and Yushan belonged to Junan county. At this time, the county had 17 districts and one town directly under the central government
