Xixiu District Xixiu District is subordinate to Anshun City, located in the hinterland of Central Guizhou Province, 90 kilometers west of Guiyang city. It is the seat of Anshun municipal government and the political, economic, technological and cultural center of Anshun City. It is known as "the belly of Guizhou, the throat of Yunnan, the lips and teeth of Guangdong and Sichuan" and "strangling Yunnan and Guizhou". It has always been regarded as the "dry dock" in Central Guizhou, and "the prosperous business, ranking first in the whole province". It has jurisdiction over 7 townships, 8 towns and 6 streets, with a total area of 1710 square kilometers and a total population of more than 800000. It is a cultural ancient city with a history of more than 600 years.
Xixiu District is the world karst scenery tourism preferred area and the west line tourism center of Guizhou Province. In 1985, it was approved by the State Council as a class a tourism open city in China. It is known as "Pearl of tourism line", "hometown of batik", "hometown of local opera" and "hometown of Tunpu culture".
On September 25, 2018, Guizhou Provincial People's government issued a notice that 14 counties (districts) including Xixiu District were approved to withdraw from poverty-stricken counties. In December 2018, it was confirmed by the Ministry of civil affairs as the third batch of national community governance and service innovation experimental zones.
On December 6, 2019, it was selected as the pilot unit of promoting the quality improvement of farmers' cooperatives in the whole county.
History of construction
The Han Dynasty was the Yelang state and juxtaposed with Yelang county.
In the fifth year of Hongwu (1372) of Ming Dynasty, Puding road was changed into Puding Prefecture, which governed Anshun Prefecture, Xi'an Prefecture, Puding County and dingyingchang. Puding Prefecture is under the jurisdiction of Yunnan Chief Secretary and governs Anshun, Xi'an and other four prefectures. In 1602, Anshun Prefecture was upgraded to Anshun military and civilian government.
In the tenth year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty (1671), pudingwei was abolished and Puding County was established as a subsidiary state of Anshun Prefecture. Twenty years (1681), set up guixidao in Anshun, jurisdiction of Guiyang, Anshun and other six.
Anshun county was established in 1913, which means good luck. In 1914, he moved from Puding County to dingnansuo (now Chengguan town of Puding County). In the same year, Anshun Prefecture was abolished and Anshun county was established under the jurisdiction of the prefecture.
On November 18, 1949, Anshun district was changed into the headquarters of Anshun Commissioner's office.
In 1958, Anshun county was abolished and Anshun City was established.
In 1963, Anshun City was abolished and Anshun county was restored.
In 1966, Anshun City was established in Chengguan town of Anshun County, Dongguan commune and Xiguan commune.
In 1990, the former system of Anshun City and Anshun county was abolished, and a new Anshun City (county level) was established. The former administrative region of Anshun City and Anshun county was taken as its administrative region, which was still under the jurisdiction of Anshun district administrative office.
On June 23, 2000, the State Council approved the abolition of Anshun prefecture level and county level Anshun City and the establishment of prefecture level Anshun City. Xixiu District is established in Anshun City, and the former administrative region of Anshun City at the county level is the administrative region of Xixiu District.
