Jianning County Jianning County, a county under Sanming City, Fujian Province, was established in the first year of Zhongxing in the Southern Tang Dynasty (958). It is located in the northwest of Fujian Province, in the middle of Wuyi Mountains, adjacent to Taining County in the East, Mingxi County and Ninghua County in the South, and Nanfeng County, Guangchang county and Lichuan County in Jiangxi Province in the northwest, with an area of 1718 square kilometers. As of June 2018, Jianning county has four towns and five townships with a total population of 160000.
Jianning county has rolling hills and dense vegetation. Jinnao mountain is 1858 meters above sea level. It is an important part of the peak in Fujian and the World Geopark. It has Minjiang River source National Nature Reserve and National Forest Park. The main traffic trunk lines of Jianning County include 207 and 309 provincial highways, the connecting line of Beijing Fuzhou Expressway, Jiantai Expressway and Changfu railway.
In 2017, Jianning county achieved a GDP of 9.936 billion yuan and a total fiscal revenue of 428 million yuan. In March 2019, Jianning county was listed as one of the first batch of counties in revolutionary cultural relics protection and utilization area, and one of the "top ten" counties (cities) in county economic development of Fujian Province. The quality of National Farmers' cooperatives was improved, and the pilot units were promoted throughout the county. On October 9, 2020, it was awarded the title of the fourth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration cities and counties by the Ministry of ecological environment.
History of construction
In the third year of Wu Yong'an (260), Jian'an county was located in Suian County, including Jianning, Taining and Ninghua. The county government was about 1.5 kilometers south of Jianning city. In the first year of Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (405), Suian was changed to Suicheng county.
In 589, Suicheng and Jiangle counties were merged into Shaowu; in 590, Shaowu was merged into Jian'an county and was subordinate to Quanzhou; in 592, Shaowu county was restored and was subordinate to Fuzhou.
In the fourth year of Wude (621) of Tang Dynasty, Suicheng county was separated from Shaowu and restored to Jianzhou (now Jianou county); in the third year of Zhenguan (629), Suicheng county was merged into Shaowu again; in the fourth year of chuigong (688), Suicheng county was restored; in the second year of Qianyuan (759), Suicheng county was established into Guihua and Huanglian towns; in the fifth year of Qianfu (878), Chen Yan from Huanglian town led Zhenbing (No.9) Long Jun (long Jun) refused Huang Chao and was named as Yi Ning Jun by the imperial court. He set up drum horn, granted brand seal, and ruled Yong'an (Yong'an is now Lixin town). Soon after, the army was abandoned and changed to Yong Ning town.
In the fourth year of Baoda in the Southern Tang Dynasty (946), after Li Jing led troops to break Jianzhou, Yongning was changed into Yong'an Town, and Yongan Chang was changed the next year; in the first year of Zhongxing (958), Yongan Chang was promoted to Jianning County, belonging to Jianzhou, and was moved to Suicheng town.
In 980, Shaowu County of Jianzhou county was promoted to Shaowu army, leading Shaowu County, Guangze County, Guihua county and Jianning county.
From the Yuan Dynasty to the 13th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1276), shaowujun was changed into shaowulu. In the first year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1368), Lu was changed into Fu. In the Qing Dynasty, it was still made in the Ming Dynasty, and Jianning County belonged to Shaowu Prefecture.
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Shaowu Prefecture was removed and a North Road observation envoy was set up in Nanping. Soon after that, Jianning was replaced by Jian'an Road, which belonged to Jianning. In 1928, the new system was implemented and Jianning road was abolished. Jianning was directly under the jurisdiction of Fujian provincial government. In 1934, the KMT government put Jianning under the jurisdiction of the ninth Office of the Commissioner of administrative supervision (Shaowu) )Since 1940, Jianning has been under the jurisdiction of the second Commissioner's Office (Nanping).
In February 1950, Jianning county was liberated and subordinate to Nanping Office of Fujian Provincial People's government.
In July 1970, Jianning county was assigned to Sanming District.
In 1983, Sanming became a city under the jurisdiction of Fujian Province and Jianning a county under the jurisdiction of the city.

Taitian River belongs to Shaxi River system, which is the upstream tributary of Shuixi River in Ninghua.
