Pingshan County Pingshan County is under the jurisdiction of Yibin City. Because there is Baoping mountain in the east of the county, which is like a barrier, it gets its name. Pingshan County is located in the lower reaches of Minjiang River, bounded by Yibin City in the East, Leibo County and Mabian Yi Autonomous County in the west, Muchuan County in the north and Suijiang County across the river in Yunnan Province in the south. The county is 42 km away from Yibin and 300 km away from Chengdu.

Historical evolution
Pingshan County, in the spring and Autumn period, belonged to the ancient Shu state and the ancient Bohou territory.
In Han Dynasty, it belonged to Bodao and Zhuti counties of Qianwei county.
During the Three Kingdoms period, the Shu Han Dynasty established Anshang and Mahu counties.
In Tang and Song Dynasties, it belonged to Mahu Jimi state.
In the Yuan Dynasty, Mahu road was built.
In the Ming Dynasty, it was changed into Mahu Prefecture in 1371, and Pingshan County was established in 1589.
In the Qing Dynasty, in 1727, Liuxian county was cut off as the capital of Xuzhou; in 1764, Suijiang County, Leibo County and Mabian county were set up in Yunnan Province.
At the beginning of the Republic of China, it belonged to yongningdao; in 1935, it belonged to the fifth administrative supervision district; in 1941, it was divided into Muchuan county.
In the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China, it belonged to Leshan district; after 1957, it belonged to Yibin District, Yibin Prefecture and Yibin City.
In December 2003, two villages, jiangba and Shipan, in Zhenxi Township and Gaochang town of Yibin County, were established and put under the jurisdiction of Pingshan County. The township government was stationed in Xinnong; Zhenxi township was renamed Xinfa township.
In 2006, Pingshan County government moved from Pingshan Town to Xinfa township.
In March 2006, Qingliang township was abolished and merged into Pingshan Town, and Pingshan Town was renamed Jinping Town. Longqiao township was abolished and merged into Xin'an town. Remove Daqiao Township and merge it into a new town. The safe township was abolished and merged into Zhongdu town. Maoshui township was abolished and merged into Yi nationality township in Qingping.
