Pingba District Pingba District, a municipal district of Anshun City, Guizhou Province, is located in the central part of Guizhou Province, Southwest China. It is named for its "vast and flat land". Zhijin County, Bijie City in the north, Guiyang, the provincial capital in the East, Xixiu District in the west, Shanghai Kunming expressway, Xiamen Chengdu expressway, Shanghai Kunming high speed railway and other national transportation arteries run through the whole territory. It is an important transportation hub in Guizhou Province and even in Southwest China. It is known as the "golden channel in the West and the cultural corridor in Central Guizhou".
Pingba District, covering an area of 999 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 7 towns, 2 townships and 2 streets (including Gaofeng town and Machang town entrusted to Gui'an New District). The government is located in Zhongshan South Road, Anping street. In 2019, the permanent resident population will be 329000. Pingba is the core part of Gui'an New District, a national new district, accounting for 51% of the planning area of 1795 square kilometers.
Pingba district is located in the typical area of karst landform in China, with beautiful natural scenery and simple folk customs. It is mainly Han nationality, with Hui, Yi, Bai, Buyi, Zhuang and Miao ethnic minorities. Pingba is known as "the hometown of Tunpu culture in China", "the hometown of halal food in China" and "the hometown of Chinese folk culture and art" (calligraphy and painting, Tunpu Opera).
On September 25, 2018, the people's Government of Guizhou Province issued a circular saying that 14 counties (districts) including Pingba district were approved to withdraw from poverty-stricken counties.
History of construction
In the spring and Autumn period, it belonged to the ancient state of Yao.
During the Warring States period, it was from dayilang state to Yelang city.
In Qin Dynasty, it belonged to Yelang County under the jurisdiction of Xiang county.
In the Han Dynasty, it belonged to Yelang County under the jurisdiction of Jue county.
In the Western Jin Dynasty, it was changed to Jue and Quxian. In the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it was guangtan County of Yelang county.
In the Southern Qi Dynasty, the county was renamed as Nanyao County, and the Yelang County remained unchanged.
In Sui Dynasty, it belonged to Binhua county.
In the Tang Dynasty, the area was divided and changed greatly. The southeast belonged to Yanzhou Yingjiang, most of the area belonged to Qingzhou, and the southwest belonged to Luoshi Guiguo and Luodian.
In the Song Dynasty, it belonged to the PRI Department of Shaoqing Prefecture.
In the early Yuan Dynasty, it belonged to Puding road and Puding Prefecture. In 1280, it was changed to Shunyuan road. In the 20th year of Zhiyuan (1283), Shunyuan road was changed to yixibuxue (Mongolian, meaning "Shuixi") xuanweisi, and Pingba was succeeded. In the 26th year of the Zhiyuan Dynasty (1289), jinzhuzhai was changed into jinzhufu (the same as jinzhufu), and then it was changed into jinzhufu.
The system of Wei Suo was carried out in Ming Dynasty, and Pingba local government was gradually established. In the 15th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1382), because of the fact that Lu Dang was a post station, the first post station was named shazuo station (now xiatoupu village, Pingba County), which gradually showed the important position of Pingba in Central Guizhou. In the 23rd year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1390), Pingba Wei was set up with the original name of "three villages of Lu and Tang Dynasties and the present jinzhufu land". Pingba Wei is under the jurisdiction of Guizhou Dusi. It has five thousand households and one commander, which is the integration of military and government.
In the 26th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1687), the county was set up as Anping County, which was subordinate to Anshun Prefecture of Guixi road.
In the third year of the Republic of China (1914), Anping County was renamed Pingba County, which was subordinate to qianxidao (also known as guixidao) in Anshun Prefecture, Guizhou Province. From 1923 to 1946, it was under the jurisdiction of the second and third administrative supervision districts and the provinces directly under Guizhou Province.
In 1949, it was under the jurisdiction of Anshun district of Guizhou Province, where the people's government was stationed in Anping town (now Chengguan town).
In 2000, it had jurisdiction over two offices, seven towns and two townships.
In 2003, Pingba governed 8 towns, 2 townships (ethnic townships), 193 villages and 5 communities.
On December 13, 2014, with the consent of the State Council, Pingba County was abolished and Pingba District of Anshun City was established. The former administrative region of Pingba County was taken as the administrative region of Pingba District, and the people's government was stationed at 58 Zhongshan South Road, Anping street.
On May 4, 2015, Pingba District of Anshun City was officially established.
