The terrain of Taihe County is based on the Ganjiang River Valley, which extends in four directions and rises up step by step, forming a basin landform with southeast and West rising and middle descending, showing northeast southwest direction. The highest point of Taihe County is the main peak of 18 rows, with an altitude of 1176 meters. The lowest point is Changbei Island, Wanhe Town, with an altitude of 45 meters and an average altitude of 91 meters.
climate
Taihe County has an average annual sunshine of 1756.4 hours, temperature of 18.6 ℃, frost free period of 281 days, rainfall of 1726 mm, abundant light energy, four distinct seasons, rich heat and abundant rainfall, which is a typical humid monsoon climate in the middle subtropical zone.
hydrology
Ganjiang River runs through the middle of Taihe County, with a length of 59.1 km. Eleven tributaries, including Xiancha River, Renshan River, niuhou River, Heshui River and SHUSHUI River, converge to Ganjiang River, forming a pinnate Ganjiang River system with a total rainfall collection area of 11000 square kilometers. The annual average total amount of surface water is 2.244 billion cubic meters, the annual average amount of transit passenger water is 38.093 billion cubic meters, and the theoretical water energy reserve is 67500 kilowatts. natural resources
water resource
Taihe County has a total of 169157 mu of water surface, accounting for 4.23% of the total land area of the county. Among them, the water surface of ponds, reservoirs and canals is 69523 mu, accounting for 41.1% of the total water surface; the water surface of rivers is 83914 mu, accounting for 49.61%; the water surface of ancient rivers is 15720 mu, accounting for 9.29%. Among the rivers, Ganjiang River covers an area of 3062300 mu, accounting for 18.1% of the total water area. The annual average volume of domestic transit passenger water is 38.093 billion cubic meters, and the annual average volume of domestic water production is 2.244 billion cubic meters. In addition to the effective utilization of water in mountainous areas, the utilization rate of water in Hilly and plain areas is low due to the rapid formation of surface runoff into the feeder river. The flow volume of the middle and small rivers is 1.362 billion cubic meters, and that of the mountainous areas is 822 million cubic meters, totaling 2.184 billion cubic meters, which constitutes the surface water resources that can be effectively utilized in the county.
The groundwater in Taihe County is mainly bedrock fissure water, belonging to the weak water area of Cambrian, Sinian, Devonian and Ordovician structural fissures. Wan'an fault passes through the territory, and the water output of single hole drilling is 200 tons per day; in the mountainous areas on the East and west sides of the county, due to the deep cut of the river, the river bed gradient is large, and the groundwater directly supplies the river; the groundwater resources with concentrated exploitation value are mainly distributed in the areas along the river, and the phreatic water of the valley plain alluvium occurs in the sand and gravel of the river valley and lake basin, with large water quantity, good water quality, and shallow burial It is easy to exploit; there are many springs at the foot of the mountain and the foot of the depression, with clear and sweet water and small reserves; the groundwater runoff is 642 million cubic meters. Among them, the shallow groundwater is 470 million cubic meters, the deep groundwater is 172 million cubic meters, and the exploitable groundwater is 60 million cubic meters.
land resource
There are various types of land resources in Taihe County. There are about 67 kinds of land resources in the county, which are almost suitable for the growth of various crops and trees in the mid subtropical region. The soil fertility is higher except for the red rock hills, Quaternary red clay and sandy sediments. The contents of organic matter and total nitrogen are the highest in yellow soil and red soil developed on metamorphic rocks in mountainous areas with large vegetation coverage, generally more than 7%, some more than 9%; in hilly areas with moderate vegetation, the contents of organic matter vary from 1% to 2.5%; in all kinds of farmland, except for fluvo aquic soil, the average contents of organic matter and total nitrogen in surface layer (0-15 cm) are 1.88-3.26% and 0.09-0.16%, respectively The average content of organic matter is 2.55% and total nitrogen is 0.12% in waxy mud or purple mud field, and 3.48-4.34% in a few black mud fields. The total phosphorus content of paddy soil is about 0.092-0.206%, followed by woodland and grassland in mountainous and hilly areas, about 0.039-0.17%; the phosphorus content of dry land along the river is the least, about 0.07%, purple soil is rich in phosphorus (up to 0.1-0.2%), and red soil developed on Quaternary Red clay and red sandstone is often lack of phosphorus. The total potassium content is generally higher in purple soil (3-3.5%), and the lowest in red sandstone and red clay(
